Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a huge palace for the King and can be seen right from the cruise ship dock. Unfortunately, you can not go in and tour. You can only view from outside the big iron fence. Not a very spectacular structure as you would imagine. The grounds are not much more that grass fields.

As you walk off the the ship this palace is in view along with its great lawn. Too bad there is no opportunity to get any closer. Even the lawn is fenced off with a notice that this is the "king's" land and not to step onto it. Why the strong language? The fence says it all.

This is certainly a beautiful palace which you can only take photos from between the bars of the gates surrounding it. Well worth a pic.

Was located just a short walk from my accommodation so i walked past the building pretty much every day. Not a lot to see. Little activity. Place is guarded and fenced. The building and grounds itself are nice, hard to get any real decent pictures of it. Also for me, looking just down the road at the properties of everyday residents, you can see the very stark difference between the two living classes which is a little sobering.

The royal palace can be viewed from afar. It's not an amazing building and the grounds are just lawns...... The royal family has many (sometimes super)opulent residences ...... and this seems to be at odds with the plight of the hoi polloi...... Just another reason to NOT visit Tonga (IMHO)

We ventured across the grass from the war memorial to get great views of the gardens and rear of the house which is very impressive. Could get right up to the fence no problem. Well worth a visit - very impressive building, probably prettiest in town.

Well it took a while for me to be convinced that this was the palace. A nice clean white painted wooden building with expansive lawns but it is very hard to get a good view. The guards are not particularly friendly!

A beautiful and revered home - island style fit for a King (& Queen). Very easy to approach with close proximity, guards are friendly but stern. A must glance!
