We had a great morning snorkeling here with the family (2 adults, 2 kids 13 & 11) our driver recommend us to come to Gideon's beach/Havana Bay as we wanted to snorkel and see some colourful fish. We were not disappointed and just a few metres out coral and lots of fish! It's an easy safe place for the kids to snorkel and get confidence as they don't have to go far off shore to see another world. The weather was ok, overcast but it didn't effect our day as you could still see beautiful blue and colourful fish. We were greeted by a lovely young waitress who gave us a bread roll for the children to feed the fish 👍 There was no fee, but were very happy to have lunch here to support this local business. The food was fresh and yummy we had calamari, fish & chips with a couple of local beers and soft drinks (as we're on holidays) I would definitely come back next time we're here!

I entered several bars which hosted a “beach”. I did not enter The Havannah Resort as it only permitted access to the beach to their resident guests. Just to see the notice they have at the entrance, I felt rejected so I do not enter these kind of places. As the resort is meters away from the rest of the “beaches”unless they fill it artificially with sand, it is not a nice beach. Pure stones.

So much to see underwater, some lovely coral and huge amount of different fish. It's annoying you have to pay to use the beach, but it is what it is.

Stopped off at the boat club that was deserted. Made a nice picnic and chilled out on the beach where there were BBQ spots and benches. Looks like it would be a great spot to come with a group or friends!

Camped over for two nights in the picnic sight. Arrived and discovered another family had stolen our reserved location. No problem with this as I had reserved only one bungalow and the other family needed two close together. That's fine. So our group took another bungalow which forced us to camp far from the dining / barbecue area. ( one of us was in a bungalow and 3 of us were tenting) No problem. We unloaded our gear... ipod music system, coffee machine , fridge, food etc etc at the barbecue area thinking the sight would be safe and secure. No problem... till we woke in the morning and the ipod , music system was stolen. I have camped all over the world and pretty much feel secure at all camp sights. However the security man decided this was not his night to work. It put a damper on the whole evening. So much so that I moved my tent to hard ground near the barbecue/ kitchen. My second night was sleepless and uncomfortable. Security is the least people expect. Otherwise a pleasant and pretty sight.
