Kinshasa trip
Jul 2018 • Family
It felt like visiting a little Eden in Kinshasa. If only I previously knew, I would of came in here time ago.

To reach it, wasn't the easiest. Had to do it bikes, because the roads weren't ideal for taxis. But that made it even better, the road leading to the park was marvellous.
We took a 1hr+ walk around the lac, the water was prestine, the walk path was clean, the air was clean.. It couldn't have been better. Once finished, they have a restaurant inside, the food was delicious, a bit expensive but its worth it. Last but not, entry fee 5$ for adults, 3$ for kids. A must visit place for anyone, with water sports for the young ones, you won't be disappointed.

Tropical getaway with great restaurant
May 2019 • Family
Excellent for families with kids. You can walk several kilometres around the lake, and after that the restaurant awaits for a perfect well deserved meal! Several activities are available on site, such as paddle boats and death rides. A must!

Team building
Oct 2018 • Business
We did our team building here last Saturday. The park is wonderful. We did many terrific activities such as zip lining, kayaking, archery, climbing,... At lunch, we had a buffet. Among us, there were several vegetarians. Others were meat lovers... But in the end everyone found what they were looking for! The French fries and the Congolese beans were especially good.

Our guides were friendly and professional: we felt in safe hands (which is important for this kind of activity). I didn't like archery because they only had one bow, which is not enough for large groups. They should have at least three bows. As a result, we waited our turn for too long in this activity (about one hour). That was the only downside of this beautiful Saturday.

Don't eat here
Aug 2018 • Friends
I visited Ma Vallee after going to the excellent Bonobo sanctuary. It's a pleasant enough place with zip wires and boating. The restaurant is not recommended. I ordered a brochette de boeuf, costing USD 20 plus tax. It took ages to arrive and was uneatably tough. My colleagues por (USD 25) was just as bad

A Beautiful Day
Mar 2018 • Friends
Last Saturday, we went with a couple of friends to the Lac Ma Vallée. First of all, it wasn't as difficult to reach as I had imagined. We took a shared taxi from 24 (in the Gombe commune, the street where the beautiful embassy of Belgium is) to Magasin. In Magasin, we took another shared taxi to Upen. In Upen, we took a last shared taxi to Manga Fula. In Manga Fula, we took a motorbike to the Lac Ma Vallée. The taxi costed three times 500 francs per person and the motorbike was 1,500 francs for each one of us as well: 3,000 francs - $2. The total ride lasted one hour (for the return too, even though we got stuck in a traffic jam in Upen for about ten minutes).

When we reached the lake, we marveled at how peaceful and clean it was. It is a pocket of rain forest at the outskirts of Kinshasa. The area is safe. Neither will you encounter any criminal nor any deadly beast! The lake is breathtaking - a patch of beauty and peace on the not always so beautiful artwork of Kinshasa! At the entrance, a welcoming staff asks you to pay $5 per adult and $3 per child. After that, another staff brings you to the reception and explains you what kind of activities you can do here. For example, you can walk around the lake (6 kilometers, free), rent a bicycle to do so, try archery, rent a kayak or a pedal boat (see prices on my photos). The zip line activity looks terrific as well. We didn't do it though. We saw other people doing it.

We ordered food at the restaurant and went for a leisurely walk around the lake. It took us about one hour and twenty minutes. By the time we came back to the restaurant, our food was served. We ate inside - chicken brochettes with French fries. It was good. I advise you all to go to this place. It's a great place to spend an afternoon or even a whole day.

Pleasant visit
Nov 2017 • Friends
We enjoyed visiting the lake and had a delicious (expensive) meal at the restaurant. I would have liked to have had time to try a boat or the canopy walks.

New name & new management
Apr 2017 • Friends
This place is now called "Africa Park Adventures" (as of 2016), so check reviews with that name. The lake is still called "Lac ma vallee," but it has new management and many new activities to do, beyond just a walk around the lake. Take comfortable shoes, insect repellent and sunscreen. There is an entrance fee of $5 for adults and $3 for children ; outside food and drinks are not allowed.

get out to get some exercise
Feb 2017 • Couples
When you are tired of sitting in a hotel and a business meeting in Kinshasa all week, this is the place to get out to. Though they charge you 5 USD just to enter, but it is worth is, as it offers different activities to move you and enjoy nature. Oh, there is a welcome soft-drink included!
We just went for a walk around the lake and loved the less frequented parts of it where I could have had the feeling that I am really in the middle of the rain-forest :)
For those who want more exciting entertainment, zip-lining across the lake, kayaking, paddle-boating or mountain-biking are offered. For some quiet moments you can enjoy a small beach or the restaurant.
