Corner building with round tower

In blue and white colors, this neoclassical bankbuilding dates from 1914 as is written on the facade. It is a cornerbuilding (Strand Road/Sule Pagoda Road) with a lovely round tower. As with many commercial buildings in the early 1900s it is meant to look robust and solid. Indeed it is, still standing after more than 100 years.

You can walk inside during office hours. The interior is a bit disappointing. Rather functional and old fashioned. It is used by Myanma Economic Bank.
