The GEM Museum is worth a visit. Lots of educational information and there was a 3D layout of Myanmar with little bulbs highlighting the mining areas.

The top floor is examples of local precious and semi-precious stones, supported by three floors of jewelry stalls. This is a good place to buy your inexpensive jade.

Seeing the large rocks that then become small gems is interesting. Downstairs are many shops with great deals to purchase. Closed Mondays.

Some of the shops inside the museum had signs with strong political views. If you do visit and want to buy - bargain! Whatever discount they offer you can still reduce the price by 30 - 40%.

Yes they do. Unfortunately the craftsmanship of the rings is not good and I already lost two rubies from one of the rings. It is so upsetting and I would not recommend anybody to buy jewelry here again
