The only synagogue in Yangon, with a tiny congregation, the struggle of one family to keep it going is very moving. Also delightful to see the ecumenical approach of the locals helping, from all the other faiths.

The synagogue is close to the busy street market on 26th St, so the visit can be combined with seeing downtown street life and Scot's Market. We knew the synagogue would be closed in the evening, but did manage some photos and a talk with...More

The only synagogue in Myanmar is kept in pristine conditions from the time it was built. It is currently being renovated after the cyclone damaged the roof. It is open every day until 2pm so make sure you get there before.

The Musmeah Yeshua Synagogue is well worth a visit, Jewish or not. It speaks to the diverse, cosmopolitan past of Yangon when it had a sizable, well-to-do a Jewish community originally from Iraq.

The synagogue down the street from Sule Pagoda, near a mosque. The caretakers were friendly and allow us to visit.

What a hidden gem. This synagogue was home to Yangon's thriving Jewish community and survives today due to selfless dedication of the small, approximately 20,congregants who keep it open and alive.

I agree with everything the others mentioned about the temple in Yangon. Unfortunately only a few members are left. I do know several Iraqi Jews who have moved to the US, if that helps.
