A great introduction to Yangon and Burmese food. James our guide was superb. Top pics for the night were pennywort salad, smoked tea leaf salad and shan noodles. Went to 6 places, 3 were street side stalls. Worth a try if you are in Yangon and are foodies!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch experience. We enjoyed the food, the downtown experience and the guide. The trip was well organized and relaxed. What a fantastic way to be introduced to Burmese food! Be ready to try new things and be hungry because there will be plenty of food.

The first thing we did upon landing in Myanmar was to go on the lunch tour with James and it was a great idea! He brought us to sample amazing street food, shared with us insights into the culinary culture in Myanmar and basically gave us the best introduction to Burmese food. We loved that we got to visit super... More

My wife and I decided to do a morning food tour the night before and Yangon Food Tour communicated quickly and thankfully were able to accommodate our last minute booking. We met the guide James and by happenstance Mary (owner) at 8:30am near Sule Pagoda. The morning tour lasted about 2 hours and consisted of various foods at three different... More

Initially it was difficult to book, the emails were delayed and no provisions made for single people traveling which was annoying. Fortunately a friend could come later in the day. We eventually settled on street food tour. It was sensational and Winnie amazing and redeemed the experience. Go Winnie.

We thank you for your review. We understand your experience wasn't as easy as we'd like it to be as well. We try our best to minimize the email exchanges however, since a one person tour doesn't cover our cost, when there is only one person to go on a tour, we do end up with multiple exchanges of emails... I was able to take a street food tour when I was in Yangon, and it was just great. My guide, James, was really great in introducing the local foods and even warning me when certain foods may not be suitable for travelers because our stomachs may not be used to local foods and bacteria yet (i.e. runny eggs, etc).... What a great way to start off our trip to Myanmar! I booked a dinner tour for our first night in Yangon in lieu of the dinner/cultural dance show our tour agency had originally planned for us and I'm so happy we did! First off, we were a bit late to our meeting point because we misjudged the severity of... More

My friends and I are living in Yangon and had meant to do this for some time. It was a really brilliant (and tasty!) way to spend the afternoon. Our guide Winnie was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and had great English. She answered all our questions in detail and went over and above recommending more places for us to try. We'd... We chose to start our trip to Myanmar with a food tour so we would know just what to look for whilst travelling around, especially with me being a vegetarian. James' tour was great! He made sure we tried meat and veggie opinions everywhere we went. Without this tour we may have fallen into the trap of sticking to familiar... More

Our guide James from Yangon Food Tours met us at our hotel at twelve and off we went, walking through the streets towards our first stop for samosa salad. The stall is on the edge of a wide alley way a short distance from the Sule Pagoda. A few other stalls fill the alleyway and share tiny kids chairs and... More
