I am a long time admirer of Aung San Suu Kyi. As such, I appreciated the opportunity to stand outside her house. If you are not interested in her or in the contemporary political history of Myanmar, you will think this is a waste of time.

It is located on the University Avenue Road near American Embassy and Sedona Hotel and next to Inya Lake. You cannot enter the house but you can take a photo infornt of the main door. Nothing to study and just for photo recroding that you have been to Aung San Suu Kyi's house.

Go if you have a good driver or taxi that is passing by. I wouldn't stop if I were you unless you just have to have that selfie of a large grey gate surrounded by NLD flags. This is really a non-event.

While it is very moving to visit the site of Aung San Suu Kyi's 20-year house arrest, you are not allowed to enter. You can stop by car and take a photo - that is the extent of what you are able to do.

It's like a paparazzi peaking into someone else's houses... and most of the time without luck. You won't be able to see a thing.

Unfortunately not a lot to see and one needs a good driver to find a safe sport to stop on this busy road, but the historical significance makes a brief stop a must.

Sadly, we can't go there inside and you can just take photo with that gate and save as a remembrance. It is near from Inya lake ( Kabaaye Pagoda side). If you want to go there you can go from sule bus stop . Take No.43 Bus and stop at Myanmar Plaza. And then you need across the road and you... More

So to be honest you can only see the front gate as shown in the picture - however, if you have followed the amazing story of "The Lady" then where she was under house arrest and where she also spoke to the people over the gate is just an absolute must see.

Went there hoping to visit the place, but it's not to be. Apparently public are not allowed in. There were guards outside at the gate. High walls, could not see the building in the inside. Wonder if it is open to public?
