Likely to be just a drive by.

The whole street was closed in the past now little to see even the garden is behind the high wall. Our coach did a drive by.

If you are interested in the history of Burma this is a must see. It is a small 2 story house that he and his family lived in. Very emotional if you know the history.

It's only a gate, so for someone that isn't interested in Aung San Suu Kyi or the history, then it's not interesting at all. But, if you know the history like me, it was an absolute must-see location and I'm so glad I went. You literally can't see past the gate but to be there and to think about what... More

Yes, nice gate is about the sum of it. The Lady's house seems like it should almost be a bit of a pilgrimage site so we went for a look but it's impossible to see anything but the big front gate. On another day when we were at Mandalay Plaza Shopping Centre we crossed the street to see if we... More

I understand the relevance of this Lady but to visit her home is totally overrated. As she still lives there and security is required all you can see is the gate.

Stopped by Aung San Suu Kyi house one night on the way out to dinner. Busy time of the day at 6.30pm, chaotic traffic - we would have created further havoc. Just enough time for a quick look & a photo. All that can be seen is a gate, long wall & a guard box. For us it was worth... More

By all means visit to pay homage to The Lady and a sense of history re her father. What is now a busy road once barricaded. You can see a little through the side of the gates. We were fortunate that a car entered when we were there so saw a tiny bit more. Have never seen gates close so... More

We had real excitement of going to see the house but were hugely disappointed that all we got to see was a gate and a security guard but we noted the living conditions and poverty of some locals living next door. The property isnt a tourist attraction save yourself the time of seeing it

Helped us understand more of, and get a real feel for, the recent history of Myanmar that led to the rule by the Military Junta and the recent 'thawing' and opening up of the country.
