Not worth it!!!! Watered down drink!!!! Lame Sky view!!!! Awful service, you have the go to the bar for them to say they will bring the drinks over, like they couldn't be bothered. I don't mind standing at the bar but if it's table service then serve at the tables.
It's 5000 entry with one free drink voucher during happy hour 5-7pm. Problems is the cocktails are massively watered down. I asked to speak to the manager and they refused.
Sticking to beer is a must as that's not watered down but still 5000 a pint. This doesn't not reflect Yangon as service and quality is very good in most places.
The half PROs
They have a DJ (amateur) which was playing decent dance music, from 6-7. Then it switched to cr*p rap.
You can see the Yangon skyline but it's not that impressive anyway.

Was thinking it would be nice to have some drinks before dinner here for happy hour. While we had done happy hour at the Strand some nights before, we were thinking happy hour would be equally as pleasant and well priced. Well, while the Strand has 50% of drinks for 4 hours (5pm-9pm), YangonYangon’s idea of happy hour is ONE drink at 5000 kyat (instead of ~7000). Overall very bad “deal”. Nice view but better to have one drink and move on.

Undoubtedly good views but give it a miss. It’s simply a tourist trap and views are ruined by overly loud music which destroys the ambience/occasion. Also beware as they don’t honor ‘happy hour’ prices.

We wasn’t sure about having our pre dinner drinks here due to the mixed reviews but as the bar was opposite to our hotel we thought we’ll give it a try. We surprisingly liked it. The view was lovely and the sunset was nice even though it was behind the buildings. Cocktails tasted nice with a chilled out background music playing. Maybe like us give it a try.

Still one of the highest and best roof top bars of Yangon. Open daily with a little limited opening hours at the moment. Great staff and my favourite margaritas place in Yangon. Snack menu has changed and offers something for every taste.

Just back from a 10-day trip to Myanmar. We did a loop of Yangon-Bagan-Mandalay-Inle Lake-Yangon. Just sharing some observations....
1) there are many right-hand drive cars on Myanmar's left-hand drive roads. Overtaking may be tricky. Trust your driver, or... take a nap.
2) when taxi drivers and guides quote prices, do clarify if it is in USD or Kyats. While USD is not used in local transactions, taxi drivers may quote in USD for tourists' easy reference. When they quote in Kyats, they usually drop the "thousand". Ie 20k = 20Kyats. So, it can get confusing.
3) change the USD to Kyats at banks. Not all money- changers are trustworthy, unless you are prepared to count the hundred thousands of Kyats. Being unfamiliar with the currency, counting can be tricky. The biggest banks in Myanmar are KBZ and AYA. They are at the airport arrival gates and in the city. Kyats are worthless out of Myanmar. You may change remaining Kyats to USD at the airport. There is an AYA Bank counter in front of Burger King, one floor above Boarding Gate 14 which opens from 7.30am. They (banks & hotels) only accept non-creased USD notes. Also accept USD10&20 notes, but at slightly lower rates.
4) get a local SIM card. We bought ours for USD5, 3GB & 20mins call time, valid for 1month. MPT is the 1st telco in Myanmar. Before 2011, during the militia rule, a sim card cost a whopping USD2000-3000! (I thought I heard wrong). Now, the largest telcos are Telenor & Ooredoo
5) public transport in the city is too complicated to understand. GRAB is available (the more you should get a SIM card) in Yangon and soon in Mandalay, and it is quite cheap, considering the bad traffic. Alternatively, you can check the price on GRAB app and just hail any taxis, quoting the approximate price. The inter-city express busses in Myanmar are awesome and the mega fleet is unbelievable!!
6) shoes and slippers are not allowed in all temples, even the ancient temples. So, It is best to leave your expensive shoes at home, and settle with just flip flops. Although, I am sure nobody steals under the watch of so many Buddhas
7) I know what you're thinking.....wear socks to keep your feet clean. Nope, that's not allowed too. You feet WILL get dirty, and if you wear your socks after each temple....Well, be assured of a bigger laundry task.
8) unlike Angkor Wat, nobody is allowed to climb up the ancient temples. Photography of murals in the temples is also not allowed.
9) Bring a spare pareo (and a scarf too if you are showing off too much of your shoulders) when visiting temples. You may be comfortable in shorts, but it is disrespectful in the temples.
10) be careful with what souvenirs you buy. Some antique artifacts and Buddha statues are not allowed out of the country. You will have a lot of explaining to do at the customs.
11) In my opinion, if you have been to many ASEAN local villages, Ie.Tonle Sap, Inle Lake is nothing to shout about... and the entry pass and airport taxi is rather expensive.
12) It is reasonably cheap to eat and drink in Myanmar but there are entry charges to all archaeological zones and temples. The country needs the funds to churn the economy, I guess...

Had couple of days visit to Yangon city, it’s lovely city quite clean and people very friendly. I stayed at Shangrila Hotel, is one of the oldest hotel but is very conveniently located with easy access to a mall. Food is general is mixed of Indian and Asian style that gives quite good options. Moving around I used Uber/ Grab and it was smooth. Will recommend visiting. Didn’t get chance to explore this time.

It was yesterday night. I was just on my way back to my hostel when I crossed the bridge on Maha Bandula street facing Chinatown. A guy appeared and we had some small talk. Nothing special till here because it happened sometimes before that a local saw me, a white guy in Yangon and they wanted to have some small talk.
After a few minutes he asked me if I have coins on me because he never saw some. So I showed them the coins I had. Then he saw the 50€ and the Thai Baht I had in my wallet and also wanted to take a photo of it. (The bad thing was that I didnt know anymore how much Thai Baht I had on me.) So I gave it to him without thinking of anything bad. Suddenly another guy appeared and also wanted to touch the 50€. So he took it and I think in that second I left my eyes on the Thai Baht the one guy put like the half of it in his pocket without me noticing. Now I felt a little bit irritated and wanted my money back. They gave it to me and I thought its all good. We shaked hands and I went to my hostel. On the way I realised that he could have taken some of my Thai Baht. So I checked and he took 6000 Baht. I couldn't believe it. So I ran back to the bridge but of course he disappeared.
I am so pissed right now because I am a guy who is always friendly to people and I dont think that someone would do that. But yeah now I know better.
So I can just write this text right now and hope that nobody else gets tricked robbed like I got.
Watch yourself humans and safe travels.

We went at happy hour (not sure how long it lasts but we went up at 5pm) and it was 5,000 entry which included any drink on the menu. All drinks on the menu were then 5,000 after that. We had a couple of cocktails which were both fairly strong and tasty. The view is really good and the WiFi is also decent. Plenty of opportunities for selfies etc. If you’re in Yangon for long enough I would definitely recommend.

We visited twice during our stay, second best cocktails during all or time in Myanmar and reasonably priced. The bar is located on the top of the Sakura building downtown. To avoid tourist just taking photo’s and not drinking you have to pay 5,000 entry fee. During happy hour this gets you any drink on the menu (most are priced more than 5,000) for free. After happy hour the entry fee is deducted from the price of your drink. Varied menu with all our drinks having good taste (generous alcohol) and well presented. Staff pleasant and speak adequate English. Some people go for sunset but you cannot see the actual sunset as it is blocked by the Shanghai La hotel. We went in the evening. Not fantastic views by some city standards but something different and enjoyable.
