We visited this Cathedral on our way back from a funicular ride. It is fairly small for a Cathedral but has some interesting frescoes and is worth a brief visit if in the area.

Very very beautiful Armenian Church dating back to 13th century. The walls are decorated by famous Armenian painters Hovnatan Hovnatanian and Gevorg Bashinjaghyan. Sayat-Nova and Bashinjaghyan are buried at the Church courtyard.

We liked the Cathedral. Very interesting inside. We later went to Armenia so saw lots of Armenian churches. But this one is very typical and interesting.
