Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

King Vakhtang Gorgasali built a Saint Cross Church in the 5th century called Golgotha. According to legend, St Nino had lived here. The present building is dated 16th century but was destroyed several times. Restored in 1990, it is an example of done church “Chapelhall”. Until 1921, Father of Cross Church belonged to Jerusalem patriarchy. It funded Jerusalem cross church during centuries and for that reason it is called “Father Of Cross”. It is quite beautiful and charming and we were very blessed to have seen this lovely church.

When I was staying in Sharden Hotel, this church was lying in front of my window and made me curious. So one day I went downstairs and visited Jvaris Mama, whose name stems from a church in Jerusalem. You enter the churchyard through a gate. There are benches in a little garden. Actually, there is another church on this ground, and in the neighbourhood is Norashen Armenian Church. Jvaris Mama is extremely beautiful inside. It has got a lot of icons on the walls, and many colourful frescoes (red, blue, gold), which were successfully restored not long ago. I went to Jvaris Mama in the afternoon. Part of the church was in relative darkness. I remember that you could throw some money into a box to see all the frescoes completely and to take photos. Sometimes people came in to pray or meditate in peace. Sometimes there was a lady caretaker.
Not far away there are several money changers and a shop where you can buy postcards and souvenirs.

This is a small church located in the old town of Tbilisi. Some attractive frescoes to be seen inside. Worth a look.

I came across this church on my walks around the old part of town. The church is small and has an average looking façade for a church. Entering requires one to be dressed modestly.

At first glance this church does not appear to be worth a visit but step inside and you will be impressed by the many beautiful frescoes which have been recently restored. Well worth visiting.

Quite sober on the outside but beautiful, well-preserved fresco's on the inside. On the outside it has a nice garden and a well where you can sit and relax. There's a bigger church right next to it, but it is under dispute and (therefore?) closed.

Just come inside and admire what is there inside. Outside look is also nice but when you are in you can think about the past ages.

The historical church, whose garden is covered with trees, was built in the 5th century. The inside is quite spectacular. St. Cross church was used as a warehouse during the Soviet period. It has great religious importance.
