There are older Cathedrals in Tbilisi. This one is the newest and more stunning. It stands within its own garden and has a huge church beneath it. The architecture resembles the traditional building style of Georgia, more or less. The inner space is, unlike most other Churches and Cathedrals in Georgia, open, bright and flooded with light. The main structure... More

This is definitely an unforgettable place! I was impressed by the cathedral itself, but honestly, I think that the park (or garden) around it is even better. A very quite and beautiful place with all kinds of colorful flowers, trees with their lifesaving shadows, the smell of the cypresses -- the unique atmosphere of peace and calmness. I am sure... I have never been somewhere like this before It is the world second largest cathedral. You cant imagine what i say unless you go there. Great yard with several churches. The great cathedral has something special like an energy which will amaze you.

This is a gorgeous Greek Orthodox Cathedral that towers over Tbilisi. Take a 3-5 lari taxi up to see the place as the walk from Meidan square will be grueling. This cathedral was beautifully restored and the interior is still in the process of restoration. No need to come wearing long pants here, as the locals are less strict about... More

Good atompshere in the church with music from the loud speakers. Fine to stroll along outside in the beautiful garden - with for some reasons some animals behind a fench. Watch up for Gypsies claiming money to enter the place, guards seems not to care about it. Ivar

Stunning new cathederal overlooking the city high over Avalabari and the Mtkvari River. Worth the steep uphill walk to see the amazing views. The Cathedral is beautiful. The exterior is huge and imposing and surrounded by pretty gardens and plazas. Inside is cavernous and as the lonely planets says, busy but retaining its serenity and grandeur. Highly recommended..

It is recommended to see even if you're not Christian. It is so beautiful place. Unfortunately, there is no English translation for artworks and the history of the church.
