It is a typical Georgian church, but the interior is SUPER decorated while the others are usually quite plain....

If you visit the Old City, you will not miss this church. So, come inside. This is the oldest church in the city. It has not been much damaged at the Soviet times. Many paintings and icons inside.

This is a must see church. It has lovely architecture, paintings and frescoes. As with all churches you must wear a headscarf and dress respectfully.

An old cathedral with St. Nino's grapevine cross and many religious paintings. We were lucky to see a child being baptized, a completely different ceremony from what we know from out catholic churches. Women have to put a skirt on entering the building (the skirts and scarfs are available at the entrance).

This review is quite late. On my first day in Tbilisi I started my walking tour at the Old Town and found this old church on my way to the Bridge of Peace. It seems like a busy church since people where coming in to worship. I just took photos of the church from a distance.

This is the oldest church in Tbilisi. It is located right in the center of the old town and is a lovely peaceful church. It has incredible frescos inside.

Centuries of age show everywhere in this church. Try to get there during a service. Also, you cannot wear shorts inside.

When an atheist tells you a church building is nice then it has to be good! I liked the outside of the building, the style of the church and it's surrounding. There is a peaceful atmosphere that tourists seem to respect. Whether you find the interior of the church attractive is a matter if taste and religion and I leave... More

Located close to the Bridge of Peace and walking distance from Metekhi Bridge, this church stand tall near other attractions even though it is a bit off from the main road. Great old structure.
