Short ride to the top/bottom of the mountain
This is a short ride to the top or bottom of the mountain. When we went, there wasn't much of a wait, however, they do pack the cable car quite tight with people. If you want to take it one way up the mountain, you can walk back down for a nice scenic route. There's a way with stairs (leads to the train station) or a way without stairs (leads to the bus stop)

    Walk or ride?
Walk up the hill on a hot and humid day or ride in a cable car…Easy choice and fairly inexpensive. Quite short ride but so worth it. Namsan Tower review coming up

    Namsan Cable Car station
From Myeongdong subway Exit 4, walk straight until the first main road junction, then left and keep walking straight (upward gradient) to reach the travelator. Take the short travelator to the Namsan cable car station. Either get a 1 or 2 way ticket. Another way is to take a free shuttle service up - at Myeongdong Exit 1.

Worth including when visiting N Tower
We travelled to the cable car base by taxi and caught it up to the tower. On the way back, it was advised to just get the funicular down to streets below and catch the bus, which we did. Taxis refused to take us back to our hotel as they said it was too close, but just the new years public holiday. We had to go up three stories of stairs queuing for our turn. There is a lift for the definitely mobility challenged. Ca be careful was very full, but went quickly with no issues. Was a novel experience but didn’t gain a lot of view due to the squashiness. Recommend to do as part of N Seoul Tower visit.

The price is slightly high but the view is pretty decent. As we went on a weekday morning, the queue is relatively short. We bought the tickets at the entrance before proceeding to queue for the cable car.

I decided to use this to go down the mountain as I had walked up and wanted to save time. I was back down the bottom in 10 minutes from buying my ticket. No wait time. Efficient cable car.

10/10 in that it keeps you from having to walk up the mountain. It was super packed and therefore slightly uncomfortable, but a short ride so tolerable. The views from the top are super and we managed to catch a Korea Heritage Foundation (or something) demonstration at the summit which was totally engaging and fun.

First off, the queue was deceiving. From an empty entrance to a crowded herd. Absolutely no mask requirements, perfect breeding ground for bacteria and viruses in its wonderfully pact 2 minute elevator.

Second off, I saw no point nor reason to view the scenery. In my opinion, it was only a view of lighted buildings. I regret wasting my time and money on this.

If you do plan on going here, I warn that you may face hours long of queueing.

Line is to big for going up and even worse to get down. 1 h waiting is not worth it.
It will be like this for a bit of time as they are renewing one of the elevators
