Rasha Elasmawy did a great job for us. We traveled to Egypt for a tour of the antiquities and a Nile cruise and asked her to create a Cairo city tour for us that would not duplicate any of or other activities. She took the itinerary for the other tour and worked around it to come up with views of the Coptic area of the city and its churches, some of the large mosques that we would not have seen otherwise, a visit to the bazaar, and a lunch at a popular Egyptian restaurant. She arranged for a van to carry our group of seven friends to several spots and then we walked with her in each area so she could point out details. She knew the history of the areas thoroughly and pointed out many details we would never have noticed otherwise. She was very sensitive to the interests of all the individuals in our group and steered the conversation accordingly. She was very helpful with suggestions for things to look for in our upcoming tour of ancient sites in Egypt. We couldn't have been happier.

My husband and I booked a tour with Rasha after reading in a Facebook group that she was an excellent guide. She allowed us to modify the tour to our liking and the price was fair and reasonable. She is punctual, professional and extremely knowledgable about Egyptian history, culture and was able to answer every single one of my questions. I really enjoyed that she didn’t take us to “her friend’s shop” instead allowing us to explore the market on our own, with a few suggested bargaining tips. We explored the pyramids of Giza, Coptic Cairo, the citadel/mosque and the souk and it was all wonderful. Her driver was excellent at navigating Cairo’s crazy traffic scene and the vehicle was new and clean. I would highly recommend Rasha for anyone wanting a knowledgable guide in Cairo — I felt very safe and comfortable with her leading us around. I hope to return someday and do another tour with her — Rasha, thanks for showing us around Cairo!

My wife and I are well traveled and found Rasha to be the BEST tour guide we ever used. We started communicating via " WhatsApp" while we were still in the United States. She responded to all our text messages in a timely manner and was quick
to offer us great itinerary suggestions. Unlike other tour guides, she will not take you on shopping tours where she would earn a commission . Our tour began with a pick up at the " Children's Cancer Hospital" where we obtained a PCR test for our flight back home to the USA. The hospital charges 600 EGP per test. The cheapest in the area. Results are texted to an Egyptian phone number same day and has QR code.
We used Rasha's phone number for the results and she texted the results back to us as soon as she received. Our first stop was the private 1 hour felucca ride on the nile river..Rasha and the felucca operator took a lot of great photos that we will treasure for our lifetime. At conclusion of our Nile river experience, Rasha texted driver and he was promptly waiting for us. In fact, never waited for driver more than 5 minutes. Our next stop, was Coptic Cairo. We visited the " hanging church" and the " cave church" and Rasha explained the history of the churches in an easy to understand way. Traveling with Rasha felt like we were traveling with a good friend. Our final tour location was the Giza Pyramids. She kept the " touts" at bay and we took great pictures of all the pyramids. Plus, she knows all the great photo locations . we ended tour with lunch at a local restaurant where we tried Koshary for the first time. If you book Rasha you will not be disappointed. She speaks excellent English, knowledge about all things Egypt . You will feel safe and you will learn about Egypt from a local point of view. At the end, she was not just a tour guide.she became our friend that really added to our Egypt experience.

Rasha came highly recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed! During my time in Egypt, I took tours with three guides in three cities. While they were all very good, Rasha was outstanding. She is extremely knowledgeable, has excellent communication skills, was patient, kind and caring while providing accurate information and answering all questions. The pace of her tours is comfortable and she is sensitive to consider time for breaks and meals. She was exactly on time each day providing vehicles that were comfortable and drivers who executed routes safely and efficiently. I have taken many private tours but none with a guide as professional and passionate about the subject matter as Rasha. I can highly recommend her without any reservation. You will enjoy listening to her speak and learning about Egypt from her!

My wife and I found Rasha recommended in the Egypt Trip Advisor forums and we feel so lucky that we did. We did the 4 day schedule detailed on her web site and would recommend her services most highly. It was great to have a driver available all day so we could stash our guide books, water bottles and extra clothing layers as the day warmed up.
We can't recommend Rasha more highly: we loved her enthusiasm, knowledge of Egyptology and insights into modern day life in Egypt. We really looked forward to meeting up with her every morning.
We were happy to do all 4 days with Rasha. If you don't have the luxury of 4 days in Cairo I would say you could skip Coptic Cairo but definitely do not miss walking on Al Muizz street when you're near the Khan El-Khalili bazaar.
We can't recommend Rasha more highly: we loved her enthusiasm, knowledge of Egyptology and insights into modern day life in Egypt. We really looked forward to meeting up with her every morning.

The best way to see old and new Cairo
We wanted a private guide to make the most of our experience as we only had 2 days in Cairo. We are so glad we did as we really felt this made the most of our limited time. We wanted to choose the things we saw and the places we went, which we were able to easily do. We had one day in Giza and ancient Egypt and one day in the city. We were able to easily tweak her suggested itinerary to suit our needs. We used Whatsapp before the trip to make the arrangements and she always responded quickly to my enquiries. Her driver safely negotiated the crazy Cairo traffic and the car was very clean and comfortable, probably the only car in Cairo without a dent! The tour was good value for money given that it included the car and driver, entrance fees, where applicable, and Rasha's personal guidance through ancient and modern Cairo. It was also nice that she took pictures of us together at the sites as we are terrible with selfies! Rasha has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with you and we would recommend her for your visit to Cairo.

Words cannot describe just how amazing my tour with Rasha was! Three of us were taken to the pyramids (you can pay extra to go inside which was well worth it), the sphynx and the egyptian museum. Rasha is a fountain of ancient knowledge and I spent the whole day captivated and fascinated by the history she gave us. When I go back to egypt I'll be sure to do another tour with her and see more of what's on offer. If you're interested in history this is the tour for you for sure. Thanks Rasha!

Just wow! Rasha is an outstanding tour guide. With over two decades of guiding experience, as well as university level education in archaeology and active experience on excavation projects, Rasha’s knowledge is seemingly infinite! She made our time in Cairo so enjoyable and memorable, making the process of exploring a big city an easy and fun task. She’ll readily adapt the itinerary to suit your needs and interests (as well as those of the weather!). Above that, she’s simply a very friendly companion to have lead you around Cairo. For anyone looking to explore Cairo, I would recommend Rasha without hesitation.

It has been my pleasure to have been guided by Rasha Elashmawy several times beginning in February of 2010 and the latest was May of 2022.
We used Rasha fine Guiding Services for several days in 2010. As I remember I mailed to her a list of probably thirty sites in the Cairo area that I wanted to see. Many were obscure, she confided in me later, that some requests she had never had requests for. My objective in visiting these sites was for photographing them. I assure you that I made many very good images, with Rasha’s guidance.
During this recent visit to Egypt did not have a lot of time for all-day sessions with Rasha. She did however perfectly fill my requests for a cruise ship that would go out onto the Nile, as opposed to one that stay moored to the shore. The second session was a long visit to Khan al Khalili. We were looking for perfume and a handmade lamp. This was probably our third visit to Khan al Khalili, the second with Rasha. She knew exactly where to go to find our lamp and to find the fragrances we wanted. After shopping, we had Rasha walk and drive about the area to photograph it after dark. She is also very skilled in negotiating with vendors.
We have always found Rasha pleasant and patient to plan with before our Egypt visits. She is always on time to pick us up, with a skilled driver to take us to our destinations. Rasha is very knowledgeable about any mosque or historical site we visit. I believe she worked for the Egyptian Antiquities service.
I highly recommend Rasha Elashmawy’s services as a guide in the Cairo area. I have recommended her services to friends who were visiting Egypt and never had any hesitation in doing so.

Rasha was an amazing tour guide for our day in Cairo. Everyone has already commented on her vast knowledge of Egyptology. She is an expert and a great storyteller, mixing both facts and bringing history to life.
What I appreciate MOST about Rasha is her level of service, punctuality and attention to detail. She is super responsive even though we had to postpone our trip for 6 months due to COVID. We added airport transfers with her to/from the Marriott Mena Hotel and we are so glad we did! Upon meeting her in the lobby, she told us that she thinks our return flight leaves at 2AM and not 2PM like I had originally thought. Of course she was right and she completely saved our return back to Switzerland. We would have missed our flights if it wasn’t for her attention to detail!
Don’t hesitate booking Rasha. I really wish we had a Rasha for every place we visit!

Interesante recordar que si pasas por la embajada, son cinco minutos y siempre les agrada ver a Españoles, ellos te van informando continuamente de las zonas conflictivas, mediante mensaje. No solamente para éste país, suelo hacerlo en todos. Siempre viajo sola y así me encuentro más arropada. Suerte y feliz estancia
