A highly recommended visit, massive in size which will take you hours to go through the exhibits. We recommend a day to set aside just to enjoy what the museum has to offer

The museum is excellent, however, it could even be better if all the exhibits were properly displayed and clearly labelled with explanations. The museum almost gets there with the Tutankhamun treasures, but they also are laid out and displayed haphazardly. Some of the areas are...More

Seeing King Tuts treasure is a highlight and is exquisitely beautiful! It is well worth the visit just to see that and the royal mummies. You have to pay an additional cost to see the mummies. They are very well preserved.you can also pay at...More

Great and vast collection of ancient Egypt. I visited first the museum and than the pyramids, which i highly recommend, because everything you see in the museum was in pyramids and the guide can tell you ecxcatly which pieces belongs where. It's a little bit...More

If you like Egyptian history or history in general this is the place. Brave yourself for the heat, there is no AC. The exceptions is worth the discomfort. Enjoy it.

This is the museum for Egyptology. There is no real AC, but you can get up close to the exhibits and you feel like you are in an old time museum. I highly recommend getting a guide. The museum is well laid out but it’s...More

Unfortunately the museum is extremely careless, disorganized, dirty, poorly lit, definitely needs better care and attention. Also a sad thing is that people just don’t care about the age of the pieces and antiquing, they touch everything, they lean on the statues, let the kids...More

The layout and artifacts are amazing. Frustrated that to some things you have to by extra tickets and to pay to take photographs, is an issue. Why not have a dedicated photograph book provided along with the entrance ticket.

I was there last week in March. They were packing up a few things, but Tut is too popular to pack up early. It will be in one place or the other.
