Prior to visiting Cairo for my first time, I had never heard of either of these sites. I now fully understand their role in Egyptian history. I learned an immense amount about Memphis and Saqqara.

It was good to visit the oldest pyramid. It's great to step back in time. The view around is gorgeous and has cute camels.

Amazing when you consider that you are walking among 5000+ year old site. Right nearby are some excellent tombs as well with really well preserved hieroglyphics.

Good locations and history but you will need a guide for explanation and get in and out without any problems. More to be seen in a single visit. Currently scaffolding on one side of step pyramid
