A displaced community moved to a location they did not want.
A successful tourist enterprise with the houses and crocodiles but some how I came away with a feeling that the whole thing was exploitative - exploiting the Nubians or the tourists is not clear....More
We came here with Memphis Tours - it was an interesting/different experience after all the Temple visits from Luxor to Aswan. The trip started with an hour of boat ride in the Nile late afternoon, which we enjoyed very much - we get a close...More
The Nubian Village tour is just average. We were taken to a private house where they offer you soda, water, tea... Best part was the picture op with a crocodile (not worth $30.00 pp but we made the best of it). Then we walked through...More
This was a very interesting cultural experienced however slightly overpriced for the activities included with a tour operator. The motorboat ride was beautifully relaxing and the views absolutely magical. I would suggest doing some shopping on the island as the goods at the Nubian market...More
You won't be disappointed with this excursion. Dive in to the lifestyle of the Nubians, with sand floors, and crocodiles in their house. I recommend this visit, even if it's just to relax and enjoy a tea.
We had a lovely boat ride and were serenaded by a couple of young boys who latched onto the side of our boat and gave them a tip which made them very excited. The river and the village were alive. The local house visit and...More
Nice village with several activities: felucca riding, camel riding, walking all around the village to see the Nubian houses and families, shopping for Nubian products, drawing henna by the hands of female Nubian artists.
I didn't imagine how can I enjoy this place when they told me about it. Wonderful beach on the river Nile, riding camels, drinking tea and having dinner in an oriental place with very delicious food in great quantities and home made quality.
It cost me US$30 for the trip from the cruise ship to the village.(return). You pay for the felucca ride..like a sail boat manned by the Nubian people. Enjoy the boat ride on the Nile with musical entertainment by the... More
It cost me US$30 for the trip from the cruise ship to the village.(return). You pay for the felucca ride..like a sail boat manned by the Nubian people. Enjoy the boat ride on the Nile with musical entertainment by the Nubians. The Nubian village is something different if you have a tour guide to explain their traditions. Time spent in the village depends on how long u want to venture. We spent 1 hour there and took the sane boat back.
To me its worth the ride.

hi, I've been there a couple of times and yes it was a joyful tour, you may join a tour at your hotel or you could tailor it by yourself as you wish, I personally call a very good guide called Milad who arranges an air-conditioned car and designs a good tour for all the area around and also makes the reservation of a nubian meal, all of this with reasonable prices, here is his mobile number if you want to call him : 01222807145
