The Karnak Sound and Light Show highlights the dramatic history of ancient Thebes. The show narrates the achievements of some great Pharaohs, with poetic descriptions of the ancient treasures. As visitors walk through the complex, the pharaohs arise to tell the story of their interesting lives, as haunting music mysteriously flows through this ancient city. Ancient and poetic voices tell the visitors about the birth of Karnak temple and the heroic achievements of the pharaohs and the god Amun. It is an enchanting and supernatural experience to listen to sound effects and gaze at the magnificent ruins illuminated during the well-presented show.

I'd had a big day, on the road and must admit, a lot of this is a blur, which is a real shame. The information, and the way it is presented is well worth it. Try to go there refreshed, so it sinks in a bit...

The Karnak temple itself is extraordinary - honestly one of our favorite places in Egypt. However, the sound and light show itself is average at best. If you've seen the temple - I would NOT go at all. It's the same sights, but you get to see maybe 15% of the temple and almost none of the detail, it doesn't... More

Like a comfort blanket the Luxor sound and light show was quite kitsch but informative. We wanted to go having observed it in the Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" with Roger Moore - old 70's style. The voices of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor add old Hollywood glamour to an informative film. A great night time visit to... More

We went to the Arabic show and it was a huge disappointment. The show itself was poor and had too much fluff (could have been way more informative).

You get to visit the temple at night and listen to actors telling the story of the great temple. Then you go sit and watch a show of amazing sound and light telling more stories about the history of the place Must go

Good show but to be fair, the first sound and light show we saw was in Abu Simbel and it's the best. Unfortunately, the majority of tourists only visit during the day due to its remote location. So if you can't go to Abu Simbel it's still worth seeing the show in Luxor.

We visited the Karnak temple during the day and it was 100000 times better than the night show. I think the night and light show can be an amazing experience however, there were parts of the show I could barely hear. I think if each person had headphones it would've been a great show!
