The Karnak Sound and Light Show highlights the dramatic history of ancient Thebes. The show narrates the achievements of some great Pharaohs, with poetic descriptions of the ancient treasures. As visitors walk through the complex, the pharaohs arise to tell the story of their interesting lives, as haunting music mysteriously flows through this ancient city. Ancient and poetic voices tell the visitors about the birth of Karnak temple and the heroic achievements of the pharaohs and the god Amun. It is an enchanting and supernatural experience to listen to sound effects and gaze at the magnificent ruins illuminated during the well-presented show.

The S&L show is a lot of mumbo-jumbo with very little in the way of special effects. The narration is clearly from the 1970s. It will not give you any sense of the temple, itself, or of its history. Also, unless 15 people show up for the program, they cancel it.

The show is over crowded so it's mainly like a 1000 people pushing each other trying to see anything or listen to anything. This was the Arabic show though I think the English show should be less crowded, but in my opinion still not worth it

Seeing the Karnak Temple at night definitely gives you a different perspective of this amazing place. There was a lot less people than during the day. I had a chance to see the scale model of the temple in the Visitor’s Centre with no one around. I was there for the 7 pm English show. The show is offered in... More

This is my second time at the Karnak Sound & Light. The last time I visited was around 14 years ago, and I loved it back then. This time I was disappointed, as the audio quality is extremely bad. We spent the whole show asking each other if someone had heard something. I have the feeling the equipment and sound... More

This is a must see for anyone coming to Luxor! It really sets the mood and gives you chills. Truly one of the greatest open air museums.

I'd had a big day, on the road and must admit, a lot of this is a blur, which is a real shame. The information, and the way it is presented is well worth it. Try to go there refreshed, so it sinks in a bit...

The Karnak temple itself is extraordinary - honestly one of our favorite places in Egypt. However, the sound and light show itself is average at best. If you've seen the temple - I would NOT go at all. It's the same sights, but you get to see maybe 15% of the temple and almost none of the detail, it doesn't... More

The set up is nice. if interested to visit, I would recommend not to visit it in same day that you have visited Karnak temple ( we went the morning to see the temple and returned in the evening for sound and light show , it was a bit boring to see the same thing twice in a day). Also... More
