Hi Sonu. I have never visited Marsa Alam but from speaking to Hass of Love Egypt Tours I believe its a shorter trip to Luxor than Hurgarda, the route I normally do, which takes 4 hours. Also apparently a new road is due to open soon which will trim the time even further.
The Egyption authorities are obsessed with the safety of tourists and I always feel very safe, however best to check your own governments travel advice and follow it. When I was there a couple of weeks ago there were lots of Americans there, which was nice to see.
I have absolutely no idea about whether its Ramadan in June but should be easy to check out.
I also feel safe when I visit Cairo but best to follow your own governments travel advice as they know all the undercurrents of what is going on re security. The very thought tgst tgere are a lot of terrorists and bsndits is a ridicukous notion. If tgere was I certainly eoukd kot go and I visit at least twice a year including some out of the way places.
I would feel safer in Egypt, than Dallas or London for that matter.
We paid 1200 le for a transfer by car but there was just two of us and so you will need a mini bus with your famimy and luggage too.
