Set amidst 62,000 acres of sprawling savannah, the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy boasts some of the most spectacular views in northern Kenya. With one of the highest wildlife densities in Kenya including 10% and 14% of the country’s black and white rhinos respectively, the Conservancy is also home to the world's single largest population of Grevy's zebras. It is also the best place to spot herds of elephants and buffalo, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, more than 400 species of birds and if lucky, a pack of wild dogs!

This conservancy is committed not only to the well being of the wildlife here but to the community as well. I met 2nd generation employees from local villages. They have built schools, provide Healthcare and work to conserve. The lodges and camps within are top notch and staying here helps fund some of these programs.

We visited Lewa for three nights during the month of July and stayed in Lewa Wilderness Lodge, a beautiful lodge, with comfortable rooms, and great scenery. The staff is amazing we had the privilege of spending our game drives with Mush who is the administrator of the Lodge and he does a wonderful job at both things. They make sure... More

Lewa is the most enchanting and exhilarating place I have ever seen! Not only is the conservancy itself wonderful, but even more so the people there are the hardest workers, who care so very dearly about what they do. They strive to educated the neighboring communities about the importance of conservation by supporting a multitude of community development programs. The... More

We completed the Lewa Half Marathon which goes through the actual conservancy. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences ever! Gazelles running across the dirt track in front of you and rhinos running alongside 50m away! The vastness of the landscape is breathtaking especially when you can't see the next person!!! It is the home of the black rhino... More

Wonderful camp in the ever present shadow of Mt. Kenya. The camp is high (5500') and the temperature pleasant. The terrain is hilly with vast open plains. Many animals especially rhinos of course. They have a reservoir watering hole that attracts uncountable numbers of animals. We also visited their security center and viewed an anti-poaching team with their blood hound.... More

Visited here at the January, the feeling while being on this safari is awesome. Our guide was excellent. The whole area is very much beautiful as being a nature & wildlife lover. I will return to this place again because it has a lot to offer. :)

Beautiful landscape, community based conservation with a good share of tourism income flowing back to the communities (schools, employment, health centers, etc.) the conservancy is a win win for people and endangered animals. Nights numbers of southern with and black rhinos in Africa, lost of other animals and game, breathtaking landscape. One of the best conservancies in Kenya, absolute must!... More

We stayed at Lewa House right in the Conservancy. This is an amazing place, they have probably saved the black rhinos from extinction. Ask to learn about their anti-poaching - efforts it is amazing. Elephants, rhinos, lions, zebras, birds, cheetahs ... galore. The accommodations are excellent and the food was over the top. The hosts and guides are extremely knowledgable... More

My family and I visited Lewa Conservancy this past August. We had a gorgeous suite with a huge veranda and plunge pool. It was very luxurious. The main mess hall was a lovely stone structure. Amazing meals and lovely wines were served every day. Twice during our stay we were surprised with a delicious breakfast and lunch in the bush.... More
