Overview
More
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) Elephant Nursery in Nairobi National Park provides a safe haven to orphaned baby elephants rescued by the DSWT. The Nursery provides the first stage in the hand-rearing and development of milk dependent baby elephants. Once they graduate from the Nursery, aged 2-3 years, the elephants move to one of the DSWT's Reintegration Centres in Tsavo East National Park, from where they will ultimately return to the wild.

Like others have said, it was pretty crowded so could be difficult to get near the ropes and closer to the baby elephants. But overall the price is very reasonable and the experience was great. The little ones do walk close enough to the rope...More

The DSW trust is doing amazing work in the area of supporting and rehabilitating orphaned baby elephants and other animals. Vision hours at lunch time are busy. The people are required to stand around the edge of the elephant area and wait for the charges...More

This was a unique experience during our tour of Kenya when we could come close to Giraffe and feed them by hand. This was interesting as sometimes the giraffe also come close and lick or kiss the person feeding them. Worth the visit.

The orphanage was on my bucket list for a long time and I have to be honest, for a reason. The adoption of an elephant online and setting up the appointment via email went smoothly, they were excepting us at 5 pm at the orphanage....More

This is a feel good stop in Kenya. The work the trust does with saving orphaned elephants is outstanding. This visit where you adopt a baby elephant is wonderful.

This is a place you don't want to miss. We were enthralled with the excellent care and dynamics of watching so many elephants being fed and cared for by their trainers.

Our 3 elephants were adopted well before hand and so we wrote an email from home to book an appointment. Apparently, if you adopt an elephant during the day you will be able to see them that evening. I'm not 100% certain of... More
