If you love cheese, Brown's Cheese Tasting Room is for you. We offer a unique foodie experience, just west of Nairobi.

Brown's has been making cheese in Kenya for over 30 years, and we now invite guests to come to our facility to see how cheese is made, sample several varieties, and enjoy a delicious lunch sourced entirely from our organic garden.

A typical visit to Brown's starts with a welcome drink and snack, followed by a cheesemaking demonstration by your host. This is followed by a tour of our production facility, with the highlight visiting one of our cheese caves, and seeing thousands of cheese maturing using traditional methods. After the tour, we sit down for our cheese tasting. We know that traditionally the cheese course is served after the meal, but we're cheese people and believe it is best enjoyed with a blank palette and an empty stomach! We taste 8-10 of our handcrafted cheeses, along with homemade crackers, breads, chutneys, plus our carefully selected house wines. We finish with a seasonal light lunch, typically consisting of soups, salads, and flatbreads, followed by dessert and coffee. Kids will love exploring the garden and animals, and even milking a cow.

Our tasting room is open Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays, but reservations are strictly required. Plan ahead, as Saturdays can be booked many weeks in advance.

We look forward to introducing you to the wide variety of delicious cheeses crafted by Brown's.

Oh my, lovely place it was. Serene, quiet, breezy and green We had a tour of the factory (very clean btw). We then had cheese tasting paired with wine, then a Greek farm lunch (yum) and for dessert delia's ice cream (heavenly). The host purity was quite awesome (kudos). Will definitely be back

Our visit was meant to take care of a day during the holiday and clear one item off our to do lists. However, it ended up being the highlight of the children's holiday. Our welcome stated with rhubarb juice and lemonade, followed by cheese samosas. Once the rest of the group joined in we proceeded with the factory visit where... More

The tour was very interesting and informative, not to mention entertaining for children. The lunch was well prepared and the food delicious. Sampling of cheeses was wonderful and being able to buy on the spot essential. Great staff, well prepared and very attentive. Great packing for the road.

Going here was my favourite day out of my Nairobi trip. The food was outstanding. Note that you get a generous serving of cheese and bread/crackers before lunch and will get extremely full so maybe don't have breakfast before coming! It was also very interesting to hear how cheese is made and it explains why overall cheese isn't cheap.

What a treat. The nearby countryside is green and lush with rolling hills and tea plantations, and the farm is beautiful. The tour was very interesting and the cheese and lunch delicious. We learned a great deal about how cheese is made in a relaxing and wonderful setting. What a great family business.

A group of friends and I enjoyed ourselves on the cheese tour, learning all about the cheese making process. Our hostess was great and answered many questions! Adults and kids had a great time. After the tour we enjoyed our cheese plate, followed by a delicious lunch. You can explore more of the farm and even milk a cow. It... More

I had a wonderful time at Browns cheese on saturday! I had been wanting to go there for quite a while, and so when I did, I was more than happy to see that my expectations were surpassed. We (Baiskeli Adventures) spent the morning cycling through beautiful Tigoni until we finally arrived at Browns only to be met with a... More
