If you go to Nairobi, this is definitely not must see place. Museum is not really interesting, little bit dark and quite small. It is not far from the city centre, just few hundred metres behind the the University of Nairobi campus and it is safe to walk there. If you have some free time, go there, but you might... More

We spent less than two hours there, but saw everything. (Well. not every bird, but...) I expected a bit more from "the cradle of mankind" and was bit disappointed. The stuffed animals were old and not very well done - one of the lower quality museums i've visited. Nonetheless some interesting exhibits. Come here if you have half a day... More

There are 2 interesting exhibits in this museum but because they are so poorly marked you don't know where to start. Th history of Kenya is a wonderful exhibit but because there is no START HERE, it is chaotic and cumbersome. The other exhibit is anthropological and also poorly outlines. Too bad because it could have been more interesting if... More

It hosts a lot of information on the culture, events and information during the colonial rules as well as present and pre-historical mammals and birds. Very informative. In-fact we thought one hour visit will be enough, at the end of two hours, we were not even half-way!

I regularly visit the National Museum when attending an event at the grounds or at the Louis Leakey Auditorium. More often, a stroll to the other side of the museum is a must. There is so much to see and learn. Evolution, Kenyan history and culture and even nature. The sights are amazing too. There is lots of parking space... More

Entrance is grand with a very nice gate which is ideal for photographs. Museum is large and can take almost half a day to look around. Very informative. Prices for tourists are higher which I disliked

We visited the Museum out of curiosity about "Turkana boy" one of the oldest human skeletons ever found, discovered in the lake Turkana region. The rest of the Museum must have been nice 20 or 30 years ago but today is very run down. The Snake Park which is part of the same complex was good fun.

The museum is tastefully done and has some interesting exhibitions on the history of Kenya, as well as some art exhibitions. The restaurant within the grounds serves good food, at a reasonable price and is a great spot to enjoy a beer.
