Booked our tickets online via Klook a day prior to going and it was a steal - two adult tickets for S$26 (one for one) for Section D. Much cheaper than Chaoyang theatre though I don't know how long their shows last. The show lasted an hour which was just nice, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, not too long nor short. Free seating as well so if you're one of the first few to get in, you can get good seating even though you're in D section. Very accessible via train, and walkable to Ghost street.

We chose to see a Chinese acrobatics show at Dongtu Theater because it was closer to our hotel and the tickets were half the price compared to the more well known Chaoyang Theater.
The show was nice with some impressive acrobatics.
However the connecting acts between the acrobatics consisted of short videos and clown acts that had nothing to do with the acrobatics and were quite lame.
Perhaps the Chaoyang Theater show would have been a better choice (not sure as I haven't seen it).

We ordered tickets online from the theatre web-site dongtutheatre.com without any problems - in front of the scene, so close to the artists. We had a very great view at the show. The great show included high ranking acrobatics of any kind, with plates, robes from the ceiling, stands on 10 or more chairs just in front of you, gymnastic jumping, line dancing, acrobatic cycling..
Go and see it for your self!

My children enjoyed the show very much. Show started at 5.30pm. I booked the tickets online RMB 100 for the side seats through theatrebeijing and paid when I reached the theatre before the show. theatrebeijing sent a lady to passed me the ticket and collected the payment on spot half an hour before the show. The theatre was small, everywhere you sit will be able to see clearly.

This acrobatic show is very good. The young performers have great talents albeit not flawless. However it is well worth taking the effort to find this theatre (more later). The show has a clown who entertain the crowd for a few minutes before the show starts. This show includes many acts:
-an impressive juggling act,
-a team of skilful young ladies with Diablo tricks (also impressive),
-a lassoo act,
-two young guys with impressive demonstration of strength lifting and balancing each other,
- a young ladyimpresses by spinning umbrellas and blankets while lying down,
- a team of upto 10 young ladies balancing on a bicycle.
- and more.
It is well worth the price although don't worry about which seat as the theatre is not too large.
About the location. If coming by subway line 5, get off beixinqiao, exit from exit 'a'. Head south 20-30metres to the intersection and turn right and head west along the North side of the road. Just before the Mercure hotel is the theatre building which is also the dongtu library. The booking office is just around the side of the building (west side) and the theatre is just inside the building with 'cinema' marked above the door (also adjacent the popcorn shop.
Tickets can be booked online, and payed for on arrival.
The show started at 5:30pm and was finished by 6:30pm. Doors opened at 5pm.

It's a 400 m walk (5 min) from exit A of the Beixinqiao metro station on line 5. The performance is filled with different acrobatic skills of agility, balance and strength. We were entertained with individual performances of ball juggling, slack rope walking, diabolo dancing, bicycle balacing. It's an energetic, delightful show. Young children will enjoy as the performances are not loud or scary. There's also a clown that entertains before the start of show, and between intermissions. The show is 1 hr from 5:30p - 6:30p
