Although little remains of past generations, this was once the homeland of Genghis Khan, and the home of Mongol empires. Xanadu is a World Heritage Site.

In the context that I am pushing 60 and really enjoy a nice walk this is a lovely place. Exit Xitucheng, metro line 10, at exit C and you are at the gate to the park. Walk along and enjoy the canal, the careful landscping, the earth wall of Kublai's city and some interesting things to look at, a wooden boat, the statues, the monument; it's worth taking your time and make sure you don't miss anything. Half way along there's a stall where you can buy Magnums! Youll cross two roads, the first is a minor road with a fruit market along its length, re-enter the park from within the market through a small gate, the second is a major road but there is a safe pedestrian crossing at the gate. Head on towards the radio mast, at the radio mast join the main road and walk to the intersection where you'll find a cafe serving great coffee and food. The wall park continues over the road but we tend to get onto the subway here at Jiandemen station.

If you stay anywhere near this park, visit it in the morning. It is a lovely park and you can walk around looking at people dancing or doing Tai Chi. Must be good for running as well. Also even though it is just by the street, somehow the noice disappear.

The only thing here to see is the statue of Kublai Khan. If you are a fan then you should probably come see this.
The statue is of him standing with his advisors from all over the world. If you know a little bit about Chinese history you'll know that Kublai Khan didn't trust Chinese to hold high positions of power so he hired foreigners as his advisors.
There is also a wall with a painting on it...but that's about it...it's about 3 km from the birds nest.
Summary-
No bathrooms near by
Just a statue and a wall...there are better parks else where.

Not a destination in itself, but well worth an early morning stroll if you are staying anywhere near this stretch of Kublai Khan's Xanadu with its earthen city wall ruins, restored moat and surrounding greenspace. Local Beijingers come here for morning jogs, tai chi, dog walking, and bird watching. The water in the moat is still and not flowing, but the surrounding greenery is well kept, including peach trees that have just recently finishing flowering when we visited in May.
We visited the restored ruins near the Beitucheng subway area, but the greenspace extends further west to the Xitucheng subway station, and further east for several city blocks. There are restaurants and teahouses along the way, but none of them were open early morning...

It is not farfrom my apartment. I moved to my current apartment partly due to the park. You should walk along the canel especially during Spring. There are many beautiful flowers planted in the park n also along the side of the canel. Many beijinger like to bring thier camera to take pictures during this time. There are toilets and also restaurants alone the canel. it is accesible bybuses and also subway line 10 Anzhen or line 5 of Hui Xin Xi Qiao South station. For those who doesnt like too much crowd in Xiang Shan (Frigant Mountain).will find this is an alternative for flower sighting.
