Once a summer retreat for emperors, this 290-acre park is still a retreat for the crowd-weary tourist, who can relax here or stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and huge lake, stopping occasionally at a shop or tea-house.

We were visiting here as a group, and it was a last minute thing, oh I wish I had the whole day to spend here, It’s so beautiful and relaxing I really just wanted to sit and take in its beauty.

The lake at the summer Palace was beautiful. It was really peaceful walking around the lake, although it is a long way. The audio tour guide sometimes did not work in certain places.

The Summer Palace was pretty awesome. Covers a lot of land but the palace itself is limited to a certain area overall it was one of the cooler thing is that I was able to experience in Beijing.

Lovely gardens and amazing history. Peter's narration had so much detail and political intrigue- made it like a thriller.
