This was our first tourist experience in Beijing. We had three littles in tow and it was interesting for all of us to observe the practices here. The statues are beautiful. If you have a sensitive nose, be warned, as incense fills the air from all angles. It's definitely worth seeing.

It was wonderful to visit a site that is still used for religious worship, as most of the temples in the Beijing area served the emperors during the dynasty era but are no longer used for worship. We enjoyed the prayerful and respectful atmosphere among the tourists. As everything constructed during the dynasties, the attention to detail and extravagance is... More

Such a beautiful place! We watched as worshipers lit incense and prayed and took discreet photos from afar. I was really disappointed at others who approached the people praying, using flash photography and disregarded the signs which prohibited photos within the temples. I love to take photos too but not to the point in which I am being disrespectful. If... More

25 yuan entry ...ticket comes with a free mini DVD too. Lots of separate ornate temples with gold Buddah's and decorated shrines.... locals praying burning incense sticks... wonderful for photography.

I visited this temple with a guide who was Buddhist. This was very helpful in understanding the religion and traditions. To fully appreciate the temple, join the buddhists in offering prayers. Incense is provided free of charge for this purpose.

The architecture and overall setting of this obviously historical temple was very interesting. The relatively early morning sunlight and remarkably clear sky made for some very interesting photos of the temple's exterior.

This the official temple of buddhists agreed upon by the Chinese government, No Tibet there. Nice serie of small temples, with a must see of the last one and tall statue closed in, 3 stories high. DOnt forget to take a few encens sticks (free) and burn them on the autel at the front. Dont forget to pray to the... More

It was interesting to learn and walk through this temple. As it is easily reachable in Beijing there were many people there. While I enjoyed walking around and learning about its unique history it did seem very different from other temples in Asia.

I love Buddhist temples and this one is a great one with lots to see and it goes on and on. Colours are exceptionally vivid on a sunny day and the smells of incense strong throughout the complex. There was very little monk activity the Sunday afternoon we went, but we still enjoyed it enormously.
