I've been here before but, looking back, didn't go into any detail whatsoever. So I visited again when I went to China last summer and I was reminded of its definitive beauty. The temples have been very well preserved and really are quite wonderful. There are several statues and displays on show as well inside the buildings, and although the... More

The tall wooden Buddha statute is a must see. Tallest wooden Buddha in Beijing. Historic site. Nice, but I preferred it before they did it up for the Olympic games back in 2008

I have been to this site numerous times (I live in Beijing), and it never gets old. The architecture is beautiful, and it is lovely to see the people visiting for religious purposes go through their rituals. It can be very crowded, but it can also be a peaceful experience. The entry fee is minimal, and there is so much... More

An interesting place to see how the Buddhists worship and pray. There are many temples in a row with different types of statues of Buddha. It gives a history of Buddhism in China including the story of the Dalai Lama as viewed from the Chinese political aspect. You need a guide to explain the various segments of the Temple.

Unique temple in the old imperial palace with exquisite wooden structures, decorations and tiles. The life of Buddha is illustrated through the numerous smaller and larger temples at this monastery and active worship shrine. Take time to learn about Buddha, his life and teachings as you walk though this impressing compound.

Not too crowded - different in different seasons - easy to find and go. Possible to visit on your own even without tour guide.

I expected to see something more unusual for some reason. The temple consists of several similar square rooms with the similar arrangement of budda statues. Should be a specialist to appreciate it.

It is without any doubt from my point of view the best temple in Beijing. Authentical atmosphere and very beautiful buildings. It deserves a visit

I came to visit as a Christian with an open mind. This place serves Tibetan Buddhist believers. There are many Buddhist statues inside with layers after layers of palaces (I may have used the wrong words in describing the temple. Please bear with me). The very last palace has a giant Buddhist that goes all the way to the top... More
