The park was built as part of the Imperial City of Yuan's new capital Dadu during the reign of Kublai Khan. I will recommend you make this as part of the Forbidden city tour. So when you exit 紫禁城, you get across to Jingshan Park...More

It’s a park for all, local and tourists. The entrance fees are 10yuen, 20 if you want to climb up the white tower in center. The local old folks have big discounts for all parks, and they will use the park in the early mornings...More

Beihai Park (北海公园)is very beautiful and a nice escape from the busy city of Beijing. Would definitely reccomend going if you have spare time or are looking for something more relaxed outside to do.

I strongly recommend arriving early as the pavilions and attractions immediately surrounding the park closed around 1630 and 1700 hours during the summer. If you want to go across the lake to the central island, I'd also recommend going early because they close earlier too....More

Its a park with charming pagodas and other impressive chinese structures scattered around it. Little hills with hidden seating spots you reach by paths or stairs, bridges, lake and boat rides. Very beautiful and cheap.

Slightly less impressive than the more popular Summer Palace, but therefore less crowded and more manageable in size. Still beautiful with a great lake where you can rent a boat, and plenty of beautiful traditional architecture around the lake to admire without fighting the crowds.

Still deciding which I like more, Beihai Park or Summer palace. Beihai is certainly more conveniently located and easier to add to a jam packed Beijing agenda. This was our last stop on a long day of tourist activities (Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City) with my...More

There is a cafe inside this park but mainly sells snack foods and ice creams, cold drinks. No hot drinks though.
