I've been to Mutianyu twice now, once in winter and once in summer. It's a great spot to visit. You can walk up or take the chair lift. Then you can take a toboggan down. Definitely worth a visit to strike the great wall off of your bucket list!

We were at the Great Wall on a cold November day but it was fascinating. Wonderful photo opportunities, beautiful place. There are many, many steps so be aware that not all will be able to walk the Wall.

We took our mothers (they are in their 70's) up the wall. It takes you up in a chair lift, and you can either take the same lift down, or ride the mountain slide down! The mountain slide is a fun way to top off the experience. The walking on the wall was a bit difficult for the elders, but... More

A fairly quiet part and well restored. You can walk for literally miles if you want to and the views are just incredible.

After 30 years - I've revisited the Great Wall of China and I'm still in awe of this immense structure. The cable car ride up was fun and saved the legs a bit but recommend to go during the week and you've got the wall to yourself!

This is definitely a must do! We were there in November and we had a little bit of freezing rain and some snow so the slide down was closed for safety reasons. This is definitely a hike but it is amazing to stand there and understand the time and culture when this was built and be totally amazed by the... More

Although it was a foggy day, we were able to see the Great Wall and walk along for 1.5 hours on our own. Expect lots of uneven steps. It was a cold day, so it wasn't very crowded either -- this is a good thing! We very much enjoyed seeing this wonder with our own eyes! We took the ski... More

Experiencing The Great Wall was incredible! The gondola ride up was a treat in itself, but scampering over the towers and history was mind-boggling.

We went to Beijing Chinese New Year of this year and so we figured Badaling Great Wall would be filled with so many tourists and we don't want that. True enough, our driver told us that his friend was there and he was telling him how crowded Badaling was. We made the right decision. Having been to both parts of... More

We visited this as part pof a 2 day tour ,. we had plenty of time to explore and walk a section of the wall which is much less crowded than the section I had visited before at Badaling
