It was nice to see the Pandas however you will need to pay another fee to visit this exhibit. Other sections of the zoo were not so great. Living conditions for the animals not so ideal and the nocturnal section was really dark. People were using the flashlights to find the animals. Elephants in Winter live indoor to keep warm... More

It was nice to see the pandas, but there were some upsetting scenes of very skinny lions/tigers. Overall it was a nice day out with friends.

On the whole visiting Beijing zoo is really sad. The animals are in tiny enclosures, with nothing to do and don't really look like they are fed. The huge elephants hardly had space to stand up let alone move very far. The various types of monkey looked bored, underfed and many had deformities. There are signs everywhere saying don't feed... I visited the zoo with my daughter and was absolutely disgusted at the way the animals were treated!! All of the animals....especially the polar bear and pandas were very agitated and upset! Their was no drinking water for them and it was a warm day! This zoo needs shutting down

nothing like the real thing. The Beijing Zoo for years has loaned pandas to other zoos through out the world both as attractions and to mate.So don't miss seeing them at their starting point. They have their own homes in several venues and the zoo, though old, is worth the time. There are about 6 to view. They play, they eat bamboo and... Positive: - Extremely low cost of the ticket - Best public toilets in Beijing - Lots lots of different species - Good prices of food - Big park and nice to walk around (it took the whole day for us) - Pretty clean cages Negative: - How small the major part of all cages are from our definition of good... As the panda are the main attraction, they are given much more attention and food and care than the other animals who are in deplorables conditions. If you go and see the polar bear, it is very sad to see an animal living in those conditions, without even water nor the right temperature and a very small cage space. The... More

The Beijing zoo looks good - yet it offers much less animals that you're probably thinking when imagining "The Zoo Of The Capital Of China". There are few pandas, rhinos and other impressive animals, yet they are few. The aquarium with dolphins (yes, you can really scuba dive with them, for additional price. nope, they're not friendly.) is very nice,... More

I visited the zoo in December 2016 as I had some free time one morning. The zoo was easy to find when you came out of the metro and the ticket cost in December worked out about £1.50 per person. This however did not include entry to the Panda’s which was a further £2.00.   The zoo was on a... More

There are a animals at this zoo. Truthfully, like most zoos, I found it pretty depressing, but I really wanted to see the giant pandas since I wasn't going to have a chance to go to Chengdu. Wow, are they cute. I laughed the entire time I was there.
