Have always wanted to go to this place for some decent live music which is kind of quite "rare" in HK when compared to the "old days" where bands were very popular in bars in Wanchai and Tsim Sha Tsui. We went on a Sunday early evening at 7:00 pm and there was a 4-piece band playing Rod Stewart, Deep... More

This place is a fun way to kick off a night with friends. Itvattracts both an eclectic group of muscisians and an eclectic group of punters. It is `cozy` but you can spill out on to the street. Drink prices are reasonable.

For those with live music in their veins, the need to feel a beat and the energy even in a genre you might never 'buy', the sense of belonging with complete strangers, then The Wanch is for you. From the moment you step inside this small venue, the welcome of John and all his staff envelops you, at the same... More

We were advised by a friend for our party of four to try the Wanch and as a bonus when we visited it was Happy Hour- we got a drink each and it seemed quite a cosy bar . We were asked if we just wanted our drinks on the Tab. This was a big mistake as we did not... More

Been coming to the Wanch since 1996 and the place has never changed, hope it doesn't. Great atmosphere, good loud live music. Best music bar in Honkers for me.

A friend took me here. We had a blast! Unpretentious crowd, good music, friendly hosts. This place will be my regular if I lived in HK.

Good beers and some really good gigs to enjoy. The sets are usually relatively short, so you get quite a few acts in during an evening. Varied and of a pretty good standard, it's a must to enjoy a beer, Hong Kong atmosphere and good music.

This place is not going to be the best party music as Amazonia etc. have professional bands but you are guaranteed an eclectic mix of covers and originals. A music lovers hangout really. It is a bit loud but you can drink and chat outside and then dive in for the music.

This place in Wanchai advertises itself as 'Hong Kong's Home of Live Music'. First I thought that this a small place for live music, but then I immediately liked the atmosphere with the black and white photographs of Hong Kong before the skyscrapers on the wall, with posters of old Hong Kong movies, with apparently original seats of old trams... Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
