Paul is a wonderful guide who can tell you a lot about the history and geology of the geo park. The kayak trip is the perfect length, stopping just before you find yourself warn out. You're able to take some breaks on the beach to swim, snorkel, and hike and end the day kayaking through one of the sea arches.... More

We had a great day out with Paul and his team. Paul is very knowledgeable on the geology and history of the Geo Park. It was great to get to know him a bit too. We kayaked to hidden private beaches and through incredible natural arch formations, swam in crystal clear water, snorkelled, and hiked up a small mountain with... More

We had a fantastic day with Paul and the team. 10 adults + 12 kids aged 7 through to 12. We had a lot of fun, a spot of exercise and even learnt a thing or two about Hong Kong's amazing topography.... I thoroughly recommend it.

Stay away on the weekends, Sai Kung Town is heaving with beachgoers and day trippers. Good luck in getting a taxi or a minibus then. But do go to Sai Kung during the week, you'll find the restaurants less crowded, and many of the trails in the country parks almost deserted.

HK has great and many opportnities for both kayaking and hiking. There are hundreds of walking trails marked down as well as hundreds more lesser-known bushwhacking routes. The sea in the east, and many of the large indented bays also offer safe and easy kayaking (such as at Hoi Ha Wan in Sai Kung) or more advance sea kayaking for... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
