On my first night in Hong Kong I found myself totally overwhelmed - I literally had no idea how to eat here. So while stuffing my face with a Big Mac (the only thing I knew how to order), I booked the Kowloon Food Tour, and I'm so glad I did. Danny took us to a range of food places,... More

This tour was great! It was a fantastic way to see some parts of Hong Kong that if you weren't on the tour you would definitely miss! We walked through the Flower Market, Bird Market, Jade Market, Women's Market and more! Our guide was wonderful and warned of us places that we could get ripped off and stopped at some... More

On our recent visit to Hong Kong, we went on a 3-hour culinary adventure with Danny which led us from food stalls to markets and restaurants. We ate our way from street snacks via brothy noodles and bbq to dessert at Chow Yun-Fat's favourite joint. Every single destination was a revelation, every bite we ate was an utter delight and... We went on the old vs New Hong Kong - and I must say that our guide Danny really made our whole trip to Hong Kong worthwhile. He is the reason we are coming back AND recommending this tour actually - no matter which urban tour you pick, just make sure he is there - and you won't regret it... More

Danny gave an excellent tour of the markets as well as in depth knowledge of the local history and the best places to find good deals and unique goods.

We have done a few tours in various countries so knew it would be worth while but we absolutely loved they Kowloon in 8 markets tour with Danny! We went on a 3 hour walking tour around Kowloon and felt like we saw the real Hong Kong not just a tourists version. We loved the flower market, bird market and... More

Danny was a terrific guide, informative, knowledgeable, excellent English and a good sense of humour. There was plenty of time to stop and ask questions and Danny gave us an insight into the life locals leas with some interesting facts and figures about Kowloon and HK island.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Ate in restaurants and street stalls we probably wouldn't have thought to try by ourselves. Along the whole way Danny gave insights into Zhong Kong's history, culture and day to day workings. Can't recommend it enough. Good food, good people.

Our guide Danny was excellent at balancing when to provide knowledge and information and when to let us experience for ourselves. Markets are a great source of local culture, tourism and variety. Danny explained the history of different areas, when and why the markets came to exist, but also information about the local areas and people. Great tour, great guide

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
