We thoroughly enjoyed the Sham Shui Po tour with Carrie. It was fascinating to eat in small restaurants, usually family run, eating a range of foods including “pineapple” buns, tofu and different dumplings. We usually had an opportunity to visit the tiny kitchens and see...More
I took the Hong Kong Foodie tasting tour in the Sham Shui Po district in early March. This is a very working class neighborhood which made it more interesting. We were taken to small restaurants where the food was home made on the spot and...More
Yammy took us to five different places on this excellent tour. Not only was the food delicious but we learned how to eat each dish in the proper way with the right taste enhancers. Each place had been serving its specialty dishes for decades. They...More
We took the HK Foodie tour on 6 March 2019 with Yammy and it was great fun, with a really good group of fellow travellers. We experienced some really excellent food in restaurants favoured by the locals and had the best Wonton soup and delicious...More
We did the Sham Shui Po tour with Carrie and it was a fantastic insight into the food and area, which she so clearly is passionate about. There was a group of about eight and she expertly navigated us to places the locals eat which...More
This tour was excellent value for the price: we learned a huge amount about the history and geography of Hong Kong, and ate six great mini-meals. We've returned to one spot from the tour for a second visit (those pig-shaped custard buns!), and we've also...More
We had a really great host, Yammy, show us around Hong Kong Central for great eats. Not only did we have some wonderful food but we learned a lot about the city's history and made some new friends. It was a fun time, try it!
We did a food tour of Sham Shui Po with Carrie in late February. I am so glad we went with the Sham Shui Po tour instead of the Hong Kong Island tour. I felt like we got a much more authentic taste of what...More
Ted was a wonderful guide; knowledgable, interesting & very aware that we (2 of the 3 women) on our walk were on the "other side" of 70. He introduced us to some wonderful, traditional eating places in old Central Hong Kong. I have visited HK...More

There was actually a person who was vegetarian on the tour I did. I think she indicated this when booking online as there was a vegetarian option for her at three of the places (the samples at the other places were fruit or dessert based so it wasn't a problem). I believe she confirmed that she was vegetarian at the start of the tour, so the guide could make sure she was catered for.
