Serene and peaceful. Don't miss the nutritious vegan lunch. Right across the Nan Lian Garden. Good place to buy souvenirs.

Just five minuts away Diamond Hill MTR station (Kwun Tong (green) line) you can find this beautiful temple, devoted to Buddha and other deities. The building, made out of wood in the Japanese style without nails, consists of a gallery enclosing a courtyard which gives way to the temple itself. There are huge statues of Buddha in bronze, fountains with... More

MTR to Diamond Hill exit C2, no more than 300m from the exit of the MTR. The nunnery and gardens are pretty much one entity. It is exceptional inside and I would say it is a must for anyone visiting Hong Kong. The display in the Main Hall at the Nunnery is breathtaking and the overall feel in both of... More

Given its proximity to motorways and high-rise flats, I was amazed at just how peaceful it is when you get inside. I've been several times now, and on occasions when its very busy the tranquility of the zen gardens is somewhat lost, but if you avoid public holidays and weekends this place will be a nice break from the hectic... You need to be someone who likes the peaceful atmosphere of a Zen monastery. The temple and it's garden over the road are great if you need to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while really still being in the city.

The Chi Lin Nunnery is a temple worth visiting even if it's a bit of a jaunt. The gardens, architecture and spiritual feeling one gets, while visiting, are other-worldly. During our visit, the monks and nuns were chanting during their prayer service inside the actual temple itself creating a beautiful spiritual ambiance even if you aren't Buddhist. A gift shop... We came here in the late morning. Stunning architecture. An introduction to the spiritual side of HK. Colourful, well-maintained gardens. Enjoy a peaceful afternoon here and appreciate the elegant architecture

I was able to visit this place, with my family, and have a great tasting meal. Because we were in a group of ten, we ordered several different dishes. The quality of ingredients made for excellent tastes in the collection of dishes. The cabbage dishes, the egg rice dishes, the assorted vegetable dishes. All were very nice. The portion size...
