Nathan Road is like the pulse of Kowloon if not Hong Kong. It used to have more shopping varieties but lately it has become shoppers for jewelleries or watches. Nathan is now swamped with these jewellery shops! But walking on the Road is a treat with people around you constantly moving and stopping.

Many years ago there were more unique shops. Now, its more the standard mid to high end shops and malls with the usual tourist junk and high roller bling.

Talk about anything and everything. It's not just that there's EVERY store possible, it that every store is ENORMOUS. This stretch of real estate is a shoppers Mecca. Lots of high end shops. But a must see just to be in the chaos of it all. We walked it both during the day and night and it was equally impressive.

In some parts of Nathan RD, Be Warned, Be Prepared for hustlers, spruikers, aggressive retailers, fake watch-suit-camera-bag-shoe salesmen. Don't fall for the swap and switch SCAM; They show a real brand name product, then "go and box it" for you and switch it for a chinese copy. Never lose sight of the product or your credit card. make sure you... More

Nathan Road is a very busy and bustling market in the heart of Hong Kong. You can buy nearly everything here but must be good at bargaining

First paved, most trodden on road in Hong Kong. All the shops you'll ever need along this road. A busy walk from the tip on Tsim Sha Tsui to bustling Mong Kok.

This is a busy main road across Kowloon stretching from MongKok to Tsim Sha Tsui – basically hotels, shops, banks, eating places, hotels, shops …… if you are staying in a nearby hotel you will doubtless walk along this road to get to the Promenade / Star Ferry – nothing special for a main street – coming from Mong Kok... Look but don't buy ! No matter how smart you think you are, these people will rip you off in a big way ! One genuine good deal you can get in Hongkong is a suit of clothes. There are Indian men standing on the streets hustling passers-by, trying to sell them a suit. These fellas are in Hongkong trying... More

Average business street with a combination of high end specialty shops from Louis Vuitton to Rolex mixed with hawkers asking if you want a new suit or fake watch. Nothing really to see on Nathan Road.

Good for a quick walk through to check out some of the shops and restaurants. It's pretty crowded so be prepared. To escape for some food, try Knutsford Terrace or the waterfront restaurants in East TST.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
