Nice place to visit especially the temple. There is nothing spectacular but a pleasant place to stroll and enjoy the afternoon especially on a cool end autumn day.

came via line 5 from Ming tomb. this scenic area wasn't as popular as other the rest and it could be eerie at times especially near to the tomb (tan yankai) area as i was the only one there.

LINGGU TEMPLE (The Soul Valley Temple) Linggu Temple Scenic Area is the third most beautiful expanse at the southern slope of Purple Mountain (Mount Zijin), in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing city, better known as Purple Mountain Scenic Area, besides Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat Sen and Xiaoling Mausoleum of Ming Dynasty. The entry fee to the Linggu Scenic Area... More

This is the third key area of the Purple Mountain. Connected by a shuttle with Sun Yat-Sen Mausoleum and the Ming Tomb area, it is easy to get to. When we visited late afternoon it seemed much more quiet than the other two areas. The pagoda has 8 levels but offers great views of the Purple Mountain and Nanjing if... More

Is an operating temple for locals , however , it is quite commercialized so there was not anything particularly impressive about the temple grounds and the ling gu pagoda is not worth the walk. Just visited lei feng pagoda in hangzhou which was far more impressive.

This is one of the many amazing temples that I've ever been to! Love the exterior designs of the gate and the lion statues on the sides! Many of the amazing palaces can be found here, nothing too special though. Visited in Nov 2012

This temple is very nice, but its beauty is in part due to the surrounding ambient. Some statue and room are really amazing, but you will be able to find similar temple all around China. The temple is full of rooms inside which you can pray for different purpose, like job, family, having a child or happiness. It is really... More

The temple is not one of the best you will see in China, although the grounds are quite nice. The pagoda is interesting and the beamless hall is quite good, but as a whole the temple is rather disappointing.

In my opinion the visit is worth it because of the park, that's what makes the difference between any other temples i've seen in china so far. The temple and the pagoda are nothing special (from the pagoda there's a beautiful panoramic view on the area). The whole park in Zhongshan is worth a visit, but it's gonna take at... More
