I've seen most of the gates through the Nanjing Wall now but this one had eluded me. Yes most of the wall has been partly rebuilt and probably this huge gate fort has been repaired as well but it is stunning. They could hide 3000...More

One of the best gates to visit if you want to see how the insides look like and how it was used. You can also use this gate to get to the city wall and walk any direction.

An unexpected treasure. The gate, an entrance to four subsequent gated courts inside the city-girding Ming Wall leads you to an incredibly constructed upper level with very instructive exhibits and handsome relics from the history of this dynasty and including the Japanese massacre of 1937.

Of the four gates we saw, this one was the most interesting. The gate leads into several courtyards, all fortified to create a miniature fort. You can do archery in one of the courtyards and we were luckily enough to see some of the weight...More

The gate itself is pretty cool to see. It's a Ming Dynasty construction so historic value is interesting. Atop the wall you can rent a golf cart and ride along the wall.

Colossal gates. In fact, this gate 4 and 7 courtyards, joined together, intended for 3,000 defenders of the city. These gates were part of the city wall erected by order of Hun - the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty, in 1368 - 1386 gg....More
