Riding a Tibet train to Lhasa has become a rather good choice of travelling to Tibet with the completion of the world's highest railway, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Taking a train to Tibet is even the top choice for many foreign tourists to Tibet for a Tibet train tour is really so impressive both because of the breathtaking scenery along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and the railway itself. Of course, enjoying the high-quality services on the best train in China is also a wonderful experience.

We took the long hours train from Xining to Lhasa. We slept on the hard sleeper bed, quite small size bed, it's a 3 level bunk bed, overall still ok. The scenery are very very beautiful along the way, Can just sit near the window and take wonderful pictures. The only thing I dislike is the smoke. Alot of inconsiderate... More

We took the train from Lhasa to Xining. The train started in the morning and reached Xining after almost 24hours. Getting in to the train is little complicated due to all the checking. But bearable. Ensure that you travel by Soft Berth and not by Hard Berth.Very important. Once you are done with hassle of getting in to the train... More

From Lasha to Xining it took 23 hours. The train station in Lasha was the bad experiences since it was too long queue and bad manner of the security staff. Train cabin were dirty and dusty. Toilets were the worst, eventhough we slept in the VIP cabin. Food served in the dining cabin were ripped off. Scenic along the route... More

4 of us got soft sleeper seats together. Beware that there is very little space for luggages, especially for hard luggage case. Lots of group travellers rather selfishly block all emergency door exit with their luggages so they have more space for themselves, the train conductor doesn't care. No one should smoke on the train, but people still do it... More

This train is an effective and cheap but slow transportation between East and West China; not a typical, white table cloth, comfortable tourist train. Most of the passengers don't ride the whole length just between different Chinese cities on the route. It is not the Orient Express or the Blue Train, just very basic transportation across a still third world... More

We took the Lhasa to Xining option in the soft sleeper. The seats were not soft and we learned to use the provided duvet as extra padding. Our companions, were 2 delightful Chinese gentlemen plus on occasions a girlfriend of one of them. It was cramped. The scenery was magnificent for the first two hours, then the Tibetan Plateau became... More

We took this train as part of our tour program. It was a 22 hours trip accross 1724 km distance. The train depart at 9.45 AM so we had about 10 hours day time to enjoy the scenic view along the route. The train was clean and the toilet was not bad. The view savana and snow caped mountain along... More

We had heard horror stories and fortunately discounted them. The trip of two days and nights proved to be a great experience. The scenery is stunning and changes dramatically from rich agricultural land to permafrost and snow caped peaks. We travelled in four berth soft sleeper class. They were clean and equipped western and Asian toilets that were kept quite... More

I took the train from Xian to Lhasa, 32 hours, for 2 reasons. One to see the scenery & mainly because I suffer from altitude sickness & wanted to climb slowly. Turns out I was the only non Chinese/ Tibetan person on the train. The journey was very interesting & the time didn't drag. It was helped by the fact... More

My friends and I went Tibet early this month, we had a 44 hours train ride starting from Chengdu to Lhasa, It was a very good experience and many of us hardly travel in train. We booked the soft bedded cabin with 4 person sharing a rooms. The cabin and bed was clean but small. The food served in the... More
