Magnificent structure, awestruck by its archtecture, decor and lighting in the evening You can see this from a distance while travelling around in the Central areas

A very pretty church. Neo Gothic with some Indonesian flavor. A must see for Catholics and still good for all others interested in history and architecture.

Right near the Istiqlal Mosque is this cathedral with new steel-work steeples on a much older base. Nice courtyard, brightly decorated inside, they were preparing for Christmas with a gaudy nativity scene outside. Free.

It is a nice thing to see a beautiful cathedral near a huge mosque. It shows the religious harmony, the city has. The cathdral looks more beautiful in the evening.

A visit to the Cathedral should be on your list. The site and building are pleasant but not exceptional. Jakarta has a dearth of tourist sites so you will inevitably find yourself at the Cathedral.

Yes, the Cathedral has an English mass, we attended one. I just can't remember the specific time.
