If you're in the old town already and want the full experience you have to go to the bridge or if you're Dutch. Unfortunately it's now closed off and badly maintained, so you can only get a good view from the bridge right next to...More

Built by the VOC in 1628, the wooden draw bridge is remarkably in good condition. Goodness knows why its called "Kota Intan Bridge" ( Diamond City Bridge) as Jakarta is far from being a Diamond City . The DKI government should preserve this bridge. The...More

An integral part of every history-minded tourist's itinerary, this bridge is one of the few remaining examples of colonial Dutch civil engineering. It's surprisingly well maintained, presenting a striking contrast to its dilapidated surroundings. I would recommend a daytime visit, as the area seems unsafe...More

TA reviews do not seem too enthusiastic about this bridge, but I did include it on my day out after the museums had closed. It was quite nice lit up at night. Worth a visit if your nearby. Would agree with many who comment the...More

My friend and I walked from the museum section of Kota Tua to see this bridge. I want the 30 minutes of my life back that I spent walking there and back. It's not at all well kept and the creepy street we walked down...More

Yes the canal is gross, yes the area is a bit sketchy, yes it's a really old colonial drawbridge, maybe the last of its kind, certainly in Southeast Asia. But it's cool, if you're into old infrastructure then a must visit. It's not that far...More

By beacon I mean that the bridge is obviously being maintained where the rest of the old town is basically falling down! The bridge has an interesting history which is printed in English and worth reading about. To get to the bridge you have to...More

If you are into bridges then you may find it interesting so long as you don't mind it spanning an absolutely filthy canal. The leaning tower is nearby so if you are visiting there you can see it from the top, best view of the...More

Take the transjakarta busway to Kota, from there it's a nice, short walk. Not only the bridge is worth to see, even better is the walk along the old channel to go there.
