Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked long several sections of this artery road, during our recent stay in Singapore.
This one way road begins at Crawford Street, on the west bank of the Rochor River. It winds it's way along 2.7 kilometers through the City as far as Elgin Bridge, where North Bridge Road meets South Bridge Road.
This road is one of the oldest in Singapore, it was constructed between 1833 and 1835, using convict labour. At a time in its history it was a route for trams and trolley busses.
Along the road there are a variety of important National, historic, cultural, religious buildings and monuments.
Such as the National Library, The Treasury, Parliament House, City Hall, Istana Kampong Glam (Malay Heritage Centre)
There is also the Supreme Court, strange building, appears to have a flying saucer attached.
There is also Raffles, hospital, the iconic hotel and shopping centre
A number of important religious buildings can be found along here, Masjid Sultan and Saint Andrew's Cathedral.
Walking along the Road is an opportunity to pass through significant landmarks covering 200 years of Singapore's history.

A long road that links many dog rent areas. From new to old and local to tourist. So much to see along with shops, bars, hawkers, hotels and restaurants

We enjoyed a browse along a section of this Road near Elgin Bridge and also in Kampong Glam, and viewed most of the remainder from the comfort of a tax. Its a lengthy stretch from Crawford Street to Elgin Bridge with probably most interest in the area near the Raffles Hotel and the Raffles Centre. There are some nicely maintained older buildings and landmarks along the stretch. Worth a look, but walk the 2.7km route??

Location: This the Northbridge shopping center- it is seen as a semi circle of stalls when you come in. You'll find a decent selection of stalls to choose from- Kopi, curries, rotis, breakfasts, etc. I highly recommend the lantong if you want something hybrid curry and laksa. If you want something more soothing, aim for the yong tow fu stall. If you want roti prata, try it at the shamsuddin stall or the one next it (don't remember).
Some rules for tourists: Bring your own tissues, for those now use to the Singaporean food scene- there will be sinks to wash your hands. Dishes are cleared by the elderly who enjoy helping with the community. Do not sit under fans (Pigeons will add a nice addition of poop to your dish). Bring some coins as sometimes restrooms will cost to go into. This hawker center also has a wet market to the side and a Taoist snake temple behind them.
Check out the wet market behind the place and the python temple. You'll find flowers and fresh fruit that locals will purchase on their everyday ritual. Wet markets are becoming rarer but still preserved by Singapore, but harder to staff by young people. check this place out for the culture and vibrant Singaporean history that has been around for decades.

A road full of restaurants, bars and shops. Wonderfully decorated with lights and statues. A real hub for local life, good street food. Great to walk down and experience.

This is a long an busy one way road starting in the vicinity of Lavender mrt and running all the way to the Elgin bridge at the Singapore river. There are quite different neighbourhoods along the way, but it's a long walk in the heat. Not really that much to see of particular interest - better to choose an area you're interested in and focus on that.

I was quite pleased to see how clean the waterways below are kept. I witnessed men on a boat using nets to remove any debris. Interesting market and food court called North Bridge Market nearby.

North Bridge Road is one of the oldest roads in Singapore, and was included in Sir Standford Raffles' 1819 plans for the development of what has become modern Singapore.
It was built between 1833 and 1835 using convict labour and was a route for trolley buses until 1962 when the current motor bus system was introduced.
The significance of a walk along North Bridge Road today is that it will take you passed and through significant landmarks covering 200 years of Singapore's history.
These include Istana Kampong Glam, Masjid Sultan, Bugis Junction, Raffles Hotel, St Andrew's Cathedral, and Parliament House.
At Elgin Bridge North Bridge Road becomes South Bridge Road.
