    Well worth visiting.
Despite visiting Singapore regularly, we had never seen the barrage at close quarters before. It was a good walk to get there but be warned…cyclists were a definite hazard! From the barrage there are brilliant views across Marina Bay and the locality and looking out to sea there were scores of ships presumably waiting for a berth in the docks. We visited during the day but suspect it will be even more spectacular in the evening. Well worth visiting.

    Great views
Well worth a visit as it has stunning views of the whole city. Also has views of the barrage which separates the freshwater from the seawater. It's a steep ramp to walk up but there is also a lift which goes straight to the top

Hidden gem full of insights into sustainability.
On our way via MRT to Gardens by the Bay we walked down to the opening and on our right we found the Marina Barrage. What an interesting place based on sustainability and what Singapore has done and achieved and will do into the future. This is a free exhibition and can take as long as you want to read/look at exhibits. Its highly recommended to detour here before you go into the gardens and see what has been done thus far. We were glad to find this place. We spent a few hors before walking around the gardens.

    Incredible View at Marina Barrage
Not too far from Gardens by the Bay lies the Marina Barrage, one of the standout spots we highly recommend. The Marina Barrage isn't merely a dam; it also serves as a place for outdoor activities and offers a wonderful viewpoint that, in our opinion, shouldn't be missed. With its convenient walking distance from the center of Gardens by the Bay, it rewards visitors with a breathtaking view. From Marina Barrage, you can see the entirety of Gardens by the Bay against the backdrop of Marina Bay Sands—a truly stunning sight. We spent hours at Marina Barrage, enjoying that incredible view, and already miss the moments spent there.

Came here with the family for a picnic on a Sunday and we had a fabulous time. It offers a wonderful view of Singapore with the MBS as the backdrop. The place was very windy and hence a great venue for kite-flying. There were alot kids running around the big grass patch merrily and people taking a stroll with their pets. All in all, this is a great spot for families and friends to have a fun bonding session.

It’s best at weekends when there’s a steady breeze. Just relax and enjoy watching everybody having picnics and flying kites.
The green roof catches the breeze, so it’s nice and cool. And there’s a great view of the city skyline to enjoy.
There’s also a water feature. Children enjoy playing in the fountains etc.
That’s it really. Not a high priority, but if you want to see people relaxing and enjoying themselves, it’s worth visiting – and a chance for visitors to unwind.

This formed a focal point of a very long walk. We were doing from outside the city in a loop and it became part of our tour.

When we arrived, it seemed to be full of school children who were on all kinds of projects, and that is excellent for them. we didn’t know what to expect really, but there wasn’t lots for us to see or do so we just had a rest there and enjoyed the shade.

To be fair, the views are spectacular. You look across the water to the Singapore skyline, and all the beauty that that has so maybe I will expectations are too high.

If you have children and would like to teach them how to fly a kite. This will be an ideal location on the barrage where it is windy. The only setback is the field can be muddy if it rains the day/night before. Remember to bring sunscreen for a hot afternoon outing.

Nice area to stroll around. Walked down from the end of Tanjong Rhu Road along the river footpath - all the way down the side of the river and across the barrage and back up the opposite bank. Beautiful views and the first time I’ve ever crossed the barrage itself.

I note the museum appears to have been dismantled, which I enjoyed on a previous visit. Lots of nice views here. Elevator still operating to you can walk over the roof level for nice views. A noticeable nice salty flavour to the breeze from the barrage itself. A great stroll for exercise.

I usually get my rental bicycle outside MBS at the Waterfront Promenade as there are usually many bicycles parked there. Starting from there, I usually cycled around the perimeter of the Gardens By the Bay to reach the Marina Barrage. This route is quiet and scenic. Occasionally, I would continue on to Gardens By the Bay East and return my bicycle either at Stadium MRT station or at Kampong Kayu Road near to the Tanjong Rhu HDB estate. Recently, I returned my bicycle at Marina Barrage and had a scenic, windy walk along Marina South Promenade. The access to this path is via the carpark at Marina Barrage. Walking this path allows one to be fully in touch with nature, the sea, clouds, wild flowers and various trees and plants. It ends at Marina South Pier MRT station. Fishing is allowed at the breakwater here.

Less to see now that the museum has relocated but there are still nice walks, if it’s not too hot. Great views out to see and towards Marina Bay. Good starting point for a walk to Gardens by the Bay or for a quick bite at Satay by the bay.

You may walk or cycle across the barrage itself.

Nice sculptures and some shade to keep out of the sun. OK for a picknic on the rooftop if it’s not wildly hot. There is place to shelter if it rains.
