Bay East Garden is connected to Gardens by the Bay via the Marina Barrage. It is possible to walk, jog or cycle over the structure housing the dam’s water gates to reach Bay East Garden from the main Barrage building. Presently there is some construction work on the Founders' Memorial. However the jogging, walking and cycling paths beside the reservoir with excellent views of the waterfront, Flower Dome and Cloud Forest and the Singapore Flyer are still accessible. There are some shelters in case of inclement weather. There are also informative signs showing the bioswales with simple explanations beside the actual natural drain. Thus it is educational to take a walk in the garden to admire the different species of trees and flowering plants as well as read some of the information signs. We walked from Bayfront Station via the Marina Barrage and Bay East Garden to reach the new Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant and its green roof located along the East Coast Park Area A. Walk was especially lovely due to the cool weather. We continued walking along East Coast cycling path until we reached the Katong park underground pass. After underpass, we walked along Fort Road and very soon we reached the Jalan Batu Hawker centre at Tanjong Rhu Housing Estate and ate at Kim Kee Wanton Mee. The springy noodle with its chilli and soup reminded me of the wanton mee which I ate during my childhood. Another easy access to Bay East Garden is to walk from Stadium mrt station.

The East side if garden by the bay is quiet, away from the tourists crowd. So beautiful and peaceful
