Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

St Joseph's Church needs a sum of 24.4 million SGD for the restoration of the 100 years old building and the Parochial House. The Mother Church has launched a Fundraising Appeal; the associated Prayer Card features Our Lady of Fatima, St Joseph, St Jude Thaddeus and St Anthony of Padua.

This is a lovely and rather centrally located church.
While the exteriors of the church are nothing to write home about, its interiors are just lovely with a serene atmosphere to match.

It's a beautiful facility and it was a pleasure to look at it. I was there during services and was unable to see the inside.

This iscthe R C cathedral in Singapore. It has a beautiful indoor viewing. It is also the only church in Singapore that has a Mass in Latin on Sunday. Forvtradional catholics who like gregorian chant and prefer the latin mas this is an oportunity. Besides its interior is beautiful

Take the time out to visit this place and admire both the inside and outside. It is quiet and peaceful and gets you away from all the busy streets around you.

Fr Ronan Murphy, during a brief stopover in Singapore, celebrated Mass on Sunday Oct 16, at St Joseph's Church. This was the 3 pm Latin Mass, and it was really inspiring to hear his homily. The following day, he celebrated the 6.30 pm Mass, giving another great homily. After Mass, he went on to deliver a one-hour talk on the Fatima Apparitions. This time, he elaborated on the faithful way St Padre Pio carried out Our Lady's wishes, eg giving utmost importance to Praying the Holy Rosary. The worshippers were truly inspired; quite a few of them stayed behind after the talk to dialogue with him. And to make the evening complete, the Church handed out prayer cards related to Our Lady of Fatima and St Padre Pio. How appropriate that Fr Murphy's visit re-emphasized St Joseph's traditional links with Our Lady of Fatima!

Built by the Portuguese and one of two churches of the same name in Singapore. Gothic facade built in the 19th century. Peaceful and quiet. There was a funeral going on at the side.

The church of St Josephs is a Catholic Church located in Victoria Street. It was built between 1906-12 in Gothic Revival Style in the shape of a Latin cross. It replaced the church of Sao Jose which occupied the site previously, and was built by the Portuguese mission. This beautiful church has a low square tower and bell turret. St Josephs was gazetted a national monument in 1995.

The church is easily reached by public transportation. Either MTR to Bugis Junction or Bus 130, 133, 145, 197, 851 and 960. If you take a taxi and the driver is unsure, just mention the church opposite the National Library on Victoria Street. If you want a nice areal shot of the church, feel free to entre the library opposite – take the elevator to the 8th floor and there are great views from the glass fronted lift lobby.

The church is worth a visit and has some splendid architecture. It also has a good variety of stained glass windows – especially above the altar and in the baptistery. It is cool and a nice place to sit and reflect. There is also an outdoor shrine to Our Lady of Fatima.
