    Beautiful and Lush
These expansive gardens are beautiful, especially the colourful orchids. Note you have to pay a fee to see the orchid garden but most of the gardens are free and simply beautiful. On a Saturday morning, people were out exercising, walking their dogs, having a coffee with friends, a picnic, taking naps or just socialising. How wonderful and relaxing. These are among the finest gardens I have visited.

    Fabulous
Really wonderful. Would be difficult to rate it anything other than five stars. It's beautiful, charming, informative - an absolute oasis within a crowded island city. The orchid rooms are wonderful. I particularly liked the Mist Room, recreating high-level, cool climates. The flower displays are superb. You should definitely go.

    Beauty and serenity
This tranquil oasis is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and relax in the lush tropical climate. The winding pathways are a delight to explore, with a wide variety of flora and fauna to discover. The vibrant birdlife is a sight to behold, and the educational tours offered by the Gardens are a great way to learn more about the natural environment.

    Beautiful Garden
We spent most of a day exploring these gardens and still didn't see it all. We would have spent more time but it was oppressively hot and humid. The grounds are stunning with tons of beautiful plants, trees, flowers, birds, etc. Definitely worth the trip.

    Lush Paradise!!
A glorious Botanic Garden! Our favourite being the rain forest that once covered Singapore. The sounds alone are a treat! Be aware there are numerous gates with their accompanying visitor centres!! We got a wee bit lost, not realising this!!

Best thing to do in Singapore
Just WOW! By far the best botanical gardens i‘ve ever been to! And it’s even free, exept the Orchids Garden. For me it was the best attraction in Singapore, not crowded, peaceful and very interesting! Beats the Gardens at the Bay by far!!!

    A beautiful area in Singapore
Very picturesque place which makes for some great photos. There are some rare plants, trees and fauna from all around the world, and the gardens itself are very big, which means you can spend a long time here walking round and catching the sights. We didn’t pay the extra money to go into different areas as it was quite expensive on a backpacker budget, but we left not feeling like we’d missed out. Definitely recommend.

    Another site not to miss
I’ve always got a taxi to this wonderful place but today used the MRT. What a pleasant and efficient way to get there. Anyway the gardens were there usual immaculate self and the orchid garden was spectacular. Highly recommend this place in this wonderful country, don’t miss out and take the MRT.

    Well worth a visit
I think the Botanic Gardens in Singapore are some of the best in the world. Very easy to spend at least half a day here. Easy to get to via MRT. We travelled to the gardens via the Botanic Gardens Station, worked our way through the gardens, and exited near the Napier MRT Station. The National Orchid Garden is a highlight of the Gardens. Entering the Botanic Gardens is free, but there is a charge for the Orchid Garden. Well worth a visit.

    Lovely respite from downtown crowds
The gardens are a short ride from the center of the city that takes you by embassy row which is of interest on its own. If you only have an hour or two head to the orchid garden for its incredible collection of orchids and bromeliads. The collection is a pleasant walk through beautifully maintained themed exhibits. Be sure to take in the collection of hybridized orchids named in honor of notable visitors, such as the Obamas. It was interesting to see who was represented. Admission price is a real bargain, especially if you are a Senior. We were enthralled by a resident monitor lizard peaking through foliage at us near the entrance. There is also a very nice shop and clean restrooms at the entrance to the garden. After the crowds and bustle of downtown it was a nice respite.

On the hop on/off bus route which is ideal. This is a very large botanic garden which should take you 2-3 hours to cover if you are reasonably fit. Beware the humidity if you want to cover it all, however there are well spaced cafes for refreshments.

Fantastic place to visit whilst visiting Singapore. Hotel was near to gardens so able to walk for my visit around busy work schedule.

Information on arrival very clear and made my way around the gardens easily. High light was visiting the Orchid garden and well worth the extra cost to enjoy the magnificent displays.

Be sure to visit either for a welcome break from work, the city or just for leisure!!!

The Singapore Botanic Gardens was one of the most comprehensive and interesting destinations that we visited in Singapore.

In such an urban setting that is Singapore, this garden and everything that it offers is a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle. There's open space for picnics, there’s a beautiful orchid museum, walking paths, and lots of recreational activities.

Very easy to navigate to the various places located within the complex. And easy to get to from public transportation.

This place is very busy no matter what the weather is!

There's no escaping the heat if you're outside in Singapore, but there is some shade here and even some cool air in the Orchard Garden. I enjoyed meandering in a loop around the garden, reading about its rich history and stopping to explore the various areas - the Rainforest Walk, Fragrant Garden and the Orchard Garden were my favourites. An entry fee applies for the the Orchard Garden but it's worth it to see the great variety of beautiful orchards on display and to get a little respite from the heat in the Cool House.
There's quite a bit of wildlife here, especially towards the end of the day. I didn't see any monkeys (they are here) but I saw various waterbirds wading at the edge of the ponds alongside the turtles. And in the rainforest I saw a large monitor lizard and a few squirrels.

February 2024, we arrived early, were pleasantly greeted by a lovely staff member who informed us well. We walked for several hours, sat down at the café for a cool drink. We enjoyed it immensely. If you’re not comfortable with humidity and very warm conditions, know that this is what you might have to deal with. Those with limited mobility, it might not always be easy. (Wheelchairs are on offer). Loved the National Orchid Garden, Swan Lake, Burkill Hall and the Sembcorp Cool House. But we enjoyed the Gardens as a whole. Till next time, hope to be back one day.

Really stunning and plants we would normal have as houseplants growing outside was amazing. Some beautiful butterflies and a couple of large lizards for good measure unfortunately we didn't see the otters althoughs there were notices asking you to leave them be but the chickens were there to show themselves off and yes I am not joking not sure but perhaps it's an idea for RHS Wisley.

Absolutely loved walking along the trails. Very peaceful. A good quiet place away from the bustling city. The centre for Ethnobotany located with the premises is a must go to place for plant enthusiastic to learn a bit more about the history of Singapore.

I thought the garden as a whole was ok. Part of the issue is the heat. It makes it hard to enjoy. Not the fault of the gardens obviously. The orchid garden is definitely worth it. Make time for at least this. There is no charge to get into the botanical gardens, however there is a charge for the orchid garden. The whole botanical garden is huge. It would be hard to see the whole thing in one day. There are maps online so do your research about where you want to see ahead of time. The map will not do it justice in terms of the total size.

These Gardens have to be the most beautiful and extensive I have visited to date. So much variety, including the National Orchid Centre, and so perfectly maintained. Allow plenty of time for your visit or go twice as we did!!
