An easy walk in good weather
We took a train to Kranji MRT station followed by a short bus ride on 925 which stops at Kranji Reservoir Carpark B. From here it is a short walk across the road to the visitor centre. Bus 925M which stops at the Wetland Centre Entrance only operates on Sunday and Public holidays. On Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, there is a Kranji Farms Shuttle which stops here and a few other places such as Bollywood Farms. The one day pass costs $5. We walked the coastal trail with a view of Johor Bahru and it is wheel-chair friendly. This trail also leads to the Wetland Centre. there is a cafeteria here with vending machines for food and drinks. We crossed the main bridge and were enchanted with the view provided by Hide 1.1. We walked in an anti-clockwise direction. If short of time, the main hide is only a few steps away in the clockwise direction. It is possible to climb up the Aerie Tower to have an aerial view. All the trails are shaded by the numerous trees such as the sea hibiscus. An enjoyable walk with friends in good weather. On a weekday, one need to walk back to the Kranji Reservoir Carpark B to catch the bus back to either to Choa Chu Kang MRT or the Kranji MRT.

An awesome atmospheric place with great volunteers!
Although I’m a Singaporean, this was my first visit to Sungei Buloh. It didn’t disappoint! We went at high tide on a rainy day (the worst time to see crocs and otters) but we still saw a white-bellied sea eagle which was kindly pointed out to us by one of the volunteers Calvin. We bumped into him at Eagle Point. We walked around the rest of the reserve and met another very helpful and friendly Indian gentleman called Kris (not sure how to spell his name) on a buggy who gave us a lot of information about the wildlife there. On our return journey, we actually saw a 3m croc hanging out by the gates of the reservoir. Apparently he waits there for the reservoir gates to open and catches the fish that come out with the flow lol. Kris came round at that moment on his buggy and gave us some background on the croc which made it very special. If you see any of the park staff/volunteers, do speak to them as they have so much knowledge and are willing to share. Calvin and Kris made our visit all the more special so thank you very much!

    Enjoyable visit to Sungei Buloh
It was our first visit to the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. We arrived on a Friday evening around 6.10pm. It was relatively quiet, lots of parking space and just a handful of visitors. One of the staff reminded us that the park closed at 7.00pm. Given that we had just about 40 minutes of time to explore this place, we decided to keep to the coastal trail. There are pods dotted along the boardwalk which are great lookout points. We visited the Fantail Pod and Eagle Point. Both offered stunning views over Strait of Johor. We didn’t spot any crocodiles or eagles. Will have to come back another time. While there are buses that ply the Kranji MRT Station and Sungei Buloh route, I think it’s much better to drive there.

    Beautiful natural area
A beautiful and diverse habitat to visit. The reserve is home to many kinds of plants and animals in the forests and mangroves. We were able to see a monitor lizard, a king cobra, many species of birds, mudskippers, mangrove horseshoe crabs among others. Crocodiles and monkeys are found there, but we weren't lucky enough to see them during our visit.

Second time we visited Sungei Buloh and the coastal path was new to us so that was really interesting with the different pods as observatories. It's not easy to get to without public transport but we got there very early in the morning so there weren't too many people about. Once you get there and hear all the different sounds from the insects, birds, etc, it feels you're immersed in nature. We did a walk round and spotted an alligator in the water - luckily none too close up! There were some works around the reserve so some areas were cordoned off. Otherwise it was a good use of a few hours. Recommended if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Sungei Buloh wetland reserve is well developed and wheelchair friendly for everyone to enjoy the natural habitat of birds and animals living in a forested environment with mangrove swamps, water catchments, etc. We were very lucky to have spotted some migrating birds, an alligator, a crocodile, a sea snake, a monitor lizard and loads of mudskippers during our hike today. Carefully constructed walk ways are well built and maintained leading visitors to various exciting lookout points via the coastal route, forested route, mangrove route, etc. It’s a haven for bird watchers during this bird migration season.
Transport wise is also very easy to reach there via public transport, ie either bus or taxi, or by car as there is free parking near the visitors centre too. It’s a place worth exploring with families or friends to enjoy a bit of nature away from the buzzing city life.

This place is really really not accessible. It's hidden behind miles and miles of army camps, graveyards and farmland. When you reach here, you'll find there's often noone around, which is rare for Singapore and therefore quite well worth the trip!

You'll catch an occasional glimpse of saltwater crocs. These are dangerous and vicious, so steer clear of them. They won't pose a danger as long as you don't wander off the beaten path.

Sungei buloh is a fabulous nature reserve. Don't rush through it . Take your time and stop and look around. You will see monitor lizards, crocodiles, many species of lizards. There are also a lot of bird species to see. There have also been many sightings of King cobras. Best time to go is on a weekday, very few people and very quiet. I will be back in Singapore this September and will definitely spend a few days at sungei buloh.

It's a huge, nice wetland park, and it's worth spending time walking around. You will see many wild animals and insects. I enjoyed it.
However, the transportation to this place is pretty bad if you live far away. You must reserve at least 1hr 30mins to get to the closest MRT station, then take buses (most only operate during weekends and public holidays). After that you still have walk to the entrance. There is a nice shuttle bus from the closest MRT station with specific schedules, but still, it only operates during weekends and public holidays. OR you can take muti-buses, which pass a very long way and all the industrial factories areas to get there. OR spend money to call Grab to go, and not guarantee you can grab a taxi way back since it is so far away.
Besides, it seems there is no customer service; you must bring ENOUGH WATER since there are no refill places.

Located in the NW corner of Singapore, it’s close to the Causeway and faces the southern tip of Malaysia across the Straits of Johore. Yet, immersed in the wetlands, one could be forgiven for feeling far removed from civilization. It’s a sanctuary for migratory birds and mud dwelling marine life. The trick is to be quiet and remain unnoticed. We did so and were rewarded with sightings of estuarine crocodiles in separate locations basking on the river banks. The park is well signposted, contains full of information and has several hides from which bird life may be observed. A morning well spent indeed!
Tip: park entrance and parking are both free of charge. The wardens are friendly and informative.

This is well worth a visit, you can get the MRT to Kranji and from there the Kranji Countryside bus will take you round all the sights in the area. Check bus timetable before leaving as it is not very frequent. At Sungei Buloh there is a wide variety of wildlife to see birds, fish and for the me the highlight salt water crocodiles. One has been there for 12 years he has only 1/2 a tail due to a fight with another croc. It is a lovely part of Singapore with mangroves. Well worth a visit go when it is a low tide there is more chance to see the crocodiles
