Quite an ordeal to find the place. Heard it was then closed down or something. Wasn't as scary as I thought but was an eye opening experience. Sad that these kind of places started to be demolished in Sg.

- curious, ominous-looking abandoned mansion in the vicinity of Botanic Gardens. - seems to have lots of history behind it, but not officially gazetted. - worth a visit, but enter with care; some doubts about its structural integrity.

A fanstastic piece of Singapore history. It is a real adventure to find it and fascinating to look around. DO it before pitfalls down or is closed for good.

Built in the late 1870s, Istana Woodneuk was built by Johor Sultan Abu Bakar ibni Daing Ibrahim for his wife, Sultana Fatimah (Turkish princess given by Ottoman Empire). However, it was destroyed by fire in 1925 and was renamed to Istana Wooden York in 1935...More
