A bleak memorial in a remote location
Dec 2019
I visited this memorial as part of a Battlefield Tour.It is in a bleak, cold, harsh, remote location. Just stand and remember.

3 Para’s finest hour
Feb 2019
Our sister battalion had a hard slog on Longdon and it was only when we walked the battlefield and saw their axis and avenues of attack’s from the Argentinian side did we fully appreciate what they had accomplished. Total respect to very brave men

Very Sobering

Among our group of 11 the common comment after walking through the battle site and seeing it from both the attackers and defenders viewpoint was "How the hell did 3 Para take this"? Greatest respect to our sister battalion, pure guts and determination.

The History of the Falkands/Malvinas
Apr 2018 • Family
This is the place we were told what really happened during the Argentinian invasion. How the falklands was already British before Argentina was constituted. Breathtaking views and gorgeous landscapes.

Extreme courage
Jan 2019 • Couples
We have visited these battle fields on two occasions on two visits to the Falklands over 4 years. There are roads across this terrain now but it was different in 1982 when there were none - only tracks. One cannot fail to be impressed by the courage and tenaciousness of the British troops who came so far from the south on foot over such terrible terrain to confront the well dug in Argentine force in the hills before Stanley including Mount Longdon. A salute to them and to those on both sides of the war, British and Argentine who died in the retaking of Stanley and the victory for the British in the Falklands.

Afternoon 4x4 drive to Mt Longdon & a walk over the battlefield itself.
Dec 2018 • Friends
This not just a battlefield trip but an opportunity to see both the battlefields up close and the landscape of the island beyond Port Stanley. Tony Smith was an great guide and know about both the battlefield itself and how to get to it. He was very engaging and did a great job in explaining how the 82 conflict unfolded and detailing the history of the island more broadly. This included the roll of the old WW1 wireless station, the remains of which we also went past on the way out. He then explained its part in the Battle of the Falklands in WW1.

Important battle site, Falklands Conflict.
Dec 2018 • Friends
An important site during the last days of the Falklands Conflict, Sgt Ian McKay won a Victoria cross on this mount. Today it is a place of quiet reflection and memorial.

Battlefield tour
Sep 2017
An interesting trip to retrace where our troops fought back in 1982. Very open and bleak landscape and would not have like to have been there during that time of the year.
